What Indiana woman had to say for herself after cops found video proof of her engaging in sexual acts with a dog
An Indiana woman had a questionable defense after being charged with two counts of bestiality following an investigation.
Cassie Lynn Snay was identified in explicit videos that showed her engaging in sexual acts with a dog on the phone of her ex-boyfriend, registered sex offender Trey Mettler.
Back in December 2024, the Wells County Sheriff’s Office started investigating Mettler after he failed to register as a sex offender in connection with a child molesting conviction.
Court records revealed that he was arrested a month later following a traffic stop, with police confiscating his cell phone.
Multiple files of child sexual abuse material were uncovered, in addition to photos of Snay and Mettler, with a detective describing it as an 'on-again and off-again relationship.'
There were reportedly 13 different photos and videos of dogs engaged in sex acts, with Snay being identified in all but one of these files.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the then-26-year-old confessed to the crimes, even admitting to authorities that she sent the videos and committed the acts.
The acts reportedly took place over several months, both at her home and a Motel 6, but the Fort Wayne woman later backtracked on her confession.
Snay's bizarre defense after confessing
Snay told authorities that while the dogs in the photos were hers, she only engaged in sex acts with one of them.
Snay was seen engaging in a sexual act with a black and tan canine in media files, eventually being arrested and released under monitored conditions.
Arrest documents show that the first incident was recorded on January 17, 2024, with photos and videos spanning through to October.
Following her confession, she backtracked and claimed that Mettler had coerced her into the acts, though this was met with reasonable doubt.
She spoke out, claiming that what was seen in the videos was not what it appeared to be, with Facebook messages revealing a different story to her confession.
She claimed that she was coerced through violence, writing: "I'd love to explain and show the world he beat me for this sword."
After being asked if she was forced, Snay replied: Yes. Yes, I'm been gather (sic) so much proof. I'm so sorry to everyone I ever let him hurt me into this ****, but I'll prove my way. I promise."
Snay wrote in another comment: "FORCED TOO! I got f***ing beat and so much more."
Snay was sentenced in August
On August 4, Snay was sentenced for bestiality, being charged with two counts of bestiality, which carries a potential prison sentence of five years.
Her bond was revoked in April after she violated a condition of her pre-trial release, which was to avoid contact with the dogs involved.
She pleaded guilty as charged in July to secure a one-year executed sentence, followed by probation.
It's been reported that she will serve her sentence in Allen County Residential Services, while continuing to be barred from having contact with the canines.
Snay must also complete a counseling program for sexual convicts.
