Protective mother and US First Lady, Melania Trump, has reportedly spoken out about the "leaked" photographs of her son that were taken last year.

The wife of President Donald Trump is said to have sent a grave warning to Mar-a-Lago members against photographing her son Barron Trump during the December holiday events.

According to journalist Rob Shuter, Melania believes that her 20-year-old son’s privacy is “non-negotiable”.

The First Lady even apparently threatened to ban club members if they did not respect the New York University student’s wish to stay out of the public eye.

Radar Online reported that "Melania made it very clear that Barron’s privacy is non-negotiable.

"Anyone caught filming or taking pictures would face immediate consequences, including potential banning from the club."

Media outlets reported that Barron was seen walking behind his father in a dining area at Mar-a-Lago in the photo.

However, the image in question has failed to surface since it was reportedly taken in December last year.

A political source told People that Melania remains vigilant in ensuring Barron is not harassed or photographed without permission, and she "watches Barron constantly in an effort to be sure nobody messes with him or bullies him.”

Barron has kept a low profile since he started college

The president’s youngest son, who towers over his father at 6ft 7in, is in his second year of college at New York University's Washington, D.C., campus after studying in New York City for his freshman year.

The college student has been in the public eye since his already-famous father became president for the first time in 2016, when he was just 10.

Unlike the rest of his siblings, many of whom have followed their father into politics, Barron prefers to keep a low profile and reportedly does not attend his classes frequently because of his high-profile status.

So his mother’s alleged threat to ban members from the president’s exclusive, $1-million-a-year golf club if they photograph Barron might be reinforcing his own desire to stay out of the public eye.

One user questioned: "Can you believe this is what’s the so called First Lady biggest issues in a time of war ?" while another blasted: "Or you could be doing First Lady things!? I’m not asking you to HELP de escalate tensions, find a compromise, visit families but maybe at least you could be keeping your deranged husband from destructing the world!!?"

A third user criticized: "SMH. Read the Room. Trump and Melania are so stuck on themselves," a fourth remarked: "Total vanity project. What a joke," and one more added: "Gross. She doesn't deserve a documentary. I will never watch it."

Despite the backlash, some viewers expressed admiration for the film. A commentor shared: "We watched it last night and absolutely loved it."

"I really appreciate your message of being kind to those we disagree with. I’ve struggled with that. Hope the other side sees how genuine you are and that you really do care about them too," they said.

Barron Trump Also Faces Criticism

In a previous Fox News interview, the president proudly declared: "He can look at a computer… I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back about five minutes later, he’s got his laptop, I say, ‘How do you do that?’" He went on to add: "He's got an unbelievable aptitude in technology."

The comment sparked mockery, with many pointing out that turning a laptop on and off was hardly a groundbreaking achievement for someone of Barron’s age.

One comment quipped: “Wait until he learns about the internet.” Another joked: “I think with this level of unrivaled computer wizardry, we need to have Barron hack into Iran's military and shut everything down.”

Despite the online humor surrounding Barron’s tech skills, the debate about his potential military service persists. However, there’s a practical reason why the 19-year-old may not be eligible for military service: his height.

At 6’9”, Barron exceeds the Army’s height restrictions for certain positions, especially those that require confined spaces, such as tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft.

The Army usually limits the height for such roles to 6'8" (80 inches), and Barron’s stature could disqualify him from service.

As Barron turns 20 today, speculation has begun to buzz that the First Lady might be worried that he might be part of that conscription.

He even - some say - advised Trump on which podcasts it was best to appear on.

What's the history of conscription in the United States?

The United States hasn't conscripted its citizens into war since 1970, during the Vietnam War.

At that time, an estimated 1.8 million citizens were called on to fight in the conflict.

Ironically, though, Donald Trump wasn't one of them - he famously avoided being drafted five times thanks to a medical diagnosis.

Due to the ongoing war in Iran, the topic of conscription isn't going away any time soon, and the White House has certainly done nothing to calm worries that another draft for its citizens could be on the horizon.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that Trump 'does not remove options off the table.'

She elaborated: "The president as commander in chief wants to continue to assess the success of this military operation.

"It’s not part of the current plan right now but again the president wisely keeps his options on the table."
