POV footage from the Goliath rollercoaster at Six Flags where a man tragically died after falling out of his seat has emerged online.
It was announced that on Monday afternoon, a man fell from the Goliath coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, which is located northwest of Atlanta.
Further details say the man was riding the coaster with his son, while his wife and daughter watched him plummet from below.
POV video shows huge climb and sharps drop on Goliath coaster
Now, a rollercoaster enthusiast has uploaded POV footage of his ride on Goliath - though the footage itself was shot more than a week before the fatal incident took place.
In the video, it's easy to see the incredibly high climb the cart takes up Goliath (the coaster itself can reach up to 200ft high at its apex) and the first big drop down, where the ride can reach up to 70mph.
The creator of the video, The Coasterologist, wrote in the caption that the footage was captured "[before] someone tragically lost their life on 10/12/26."
On the safety of the ride, they noted that "the clamshell restraints [which pull you into the ride] were a little loose on the ride which made for fantastic airtime but [we] never worried about safety."
Who was the man killed on the Six Flags Goliath rollercoaster?
More information is slowly emerging about the man who was tragically killed after falling out of his seat while riding the Goliath rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia.
The Daily Mail reported that the man in question was a father who died whilst riding the Goliath with his son. It is believed, thanks to eyewitness reports, that his wife and daughter were watching the coaster below as he plummeted.
After falling from his seat, the man slammed against the ride several times, before he fell onto the roof of a haunted house attraction that was located below the coaster.
In the aftermath of the freak accident, both the ride and the theme park were evacuated.
Footage has also emerged of riders on the Goliath coaster being led to safety following the evacuation.
Riders were got out four at a time and led down to an adjacent stairway on the ride by theme park workers.
In a statement a spokesperson for Six Flags said "we are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today.
"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest's family, friends and loved ones. We are also providing support to the guests and team members affected."
