Renee Nicole Good’s wife who had devastating words after Minneapolis ICE shooting revealed in pictures
The widow of Renee Nicole Good was filmed sobbing outside their SUV moments after her wife was shot and killed by an ICE agent during an immigration operation in Minneapolis.
Rebecca Good, a 40-year-old handywoman, had recently moved with Renee and their six-year-old son from Kansas City to Minneapolis after a brief stay in Canada.
Rebecca was outside the vehicle when Renee tried to drive past a federal officer. The agent opened fire, striking the 37-year-old mother of three in the head. Footage shows Rebecca breaking down as the SUV crashed into another car down the block. She could reportedly be heard yelling, “It’s my fault,” while trying to help her wife.
“I made her come down here; it’s my fault,” she said at the scene, according to The National News Desk. “They just shot my wife.” Rebecca added, “They shot her in the head. I have a six-year-old in school.”
DHS says Renee weaponized her car
Federal officials accused Renee of being a “domestic terrorist” who “weaponized” her vehicle in an attempt to harm ICE officers. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed the couple had been “stalking and impeding” agents throughout the day.
Surveillance video reportedly shows Renee's SUV idling near the immigration sweep. When approached by an agent and told to exit, she briefly reversed, then turned and drove forward. The officer, positioned in front of the car, fired three shots into the windshield and side window, killing her.
The ICE agent involved had previously been hospitalized after being dragged by a migrant driver last year, according to officials.
Family and neighbors push back on federal claims
Loved ones described Renee in starkly different terms. “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” said her mother, Donna Ganger, told The Star Tribune. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving, and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
Joan Rose, a neighbor from Missouri, said, “A neighbor who, you know, is not a terrorist. Not an extremist. That was just a mom who loved her kids, loved her spouse.”
Renee had previously lived in the Waldo neighborhood of Kansas City and had moved to Canada after Donald Trump was re-elected in 2024. The family later settled in Minneapolis, where they continued raising her youngest son.
Originally from Colorado, Renee described herself online as a “poet and writer and wife and mom.” She had two older children from a previous marriage and was widowed in 2023 before marrying Rebecca.
Since Renee's death, her six-year-old son's grandfather Timmy Ray Mackline Sr has told the Star Tribune, “There’s nobody else in his life. I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come and get my grandchild.”
