This weekend, President Joe Biden has met with six other influential world leaders for the 2021 G7 Summit.
Government heads from France, Italy, Germany, Japan, Canada, USA, and the UK have congregated in Cornwall, England, to debate the economy, the ongoing pandemic, and the climate crisis.
The weekend marks the first time that the 78-year-old POTUS Joe Biden has attended the event, after his victory over Donald Trump in the 2020 US Presidential Election.
However, as well as the many talking points to have come from the history summit, Twitter users have been sharing two five-second videos side-by-side to highlight the "difference" between Biden and his White House predecessor.
On the left, Trump can be seen during his appearance at the 2017 NATO summit in Brussels.
The former president hit headlines when he appeared to physically push in front of Dusko Markovic, who was then prime minister of Montenegro. With the cameras rolling, Trump then stands stoically, front and center, as he adjusts his jacket.
And in the video on the right - pieced together by The Recount and later shared on their Twitter page - President Biden can be seen walking arm-in-arm with French president Emmanuel Macron, as the world leaders walk and talk together.
Now, speaking to TIME just days after the 2017 NATO summit, Markovic called Trump's shove a "harmless situation that can in no way affect the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries".
And let's also remember that these two clips have been carefully selected to purposefully evoke a reaction from Twitter users. But it certainly worked.
Since being posted to Twitter on June 11, the post has already amassed over 4.5 million views, with many users commenting on the "difference" it shows between Trump and Biden.
For example, White House reporter Brian J. Karem simply wrote: "What a difference an election makes."
A second added: "How a Ballot can make a difference."
A third Twitter user described Trump's push as "The rudest thing on a diplomatic stage I had ever seen," which was echoed by another who replied: "That video of Trump pushing his way to the front of the group of diplomats was one of the most embarrassing moments in the history of United States diplomacy."
Another Twitter user responded to the video saying: "Biden doesn't have to hold Macron's hand in a death grip to keep his attention. All he has to do is talk to him in a civil fashion about something both of them are passionate about. See how easy it is, Donald?"

President Joe Biden has once again been targeted by critics on social media following a video from the G7 summit in Italy.
This week, the 81-year-old POTUS attended the G7 summit, featuring leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
But it looked like Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had to take charge on Thursday (June 13), as she was seen appearing to guide President Biden back to a photo opportunity after he "wandered off" during a skydiving display featuring parachutists displaying allied nations' flags.
The world leaders had gathered to witness the parachute jumpers descend from the sky, symbolizing unity and military strength among the allied nations. As the leaders applauded the skydivers, President Biden began to stroll away.
Noticing Biden's departure from the group photo, Prime Minister Meloni swiftly intervened, guiding him back to join the other leaders for the crucial photo opportunity alongside the parachutists.
Responding to videos circulating on X, one user wrote: "Look how they all cover for him."
Another X user tweeted: "Dear Lord, please help America. We’re hanging on by a thread. How much longer will they let him embarrass us?"
And political commentator Collin Rugg described the video as a "clown show".
Despite the comments from social media users, videos appear to show Biden simply waving and giving a thumbs-up to a parachutist who was on the ground collecting his gear.
Responding to media reports criticizing Biden's momentary absence, White House press secretary Andrew Bates defended the president's actions, accusing the media of a "desperate" attempt to distract from Biden's diplomatic efforts.
Bates highlighted that Biden had engaged with the skydivers and congratulated them, emphasizing the positive aspect of the event - and that videos circulating online using a "narrow frame" to distort what was really going on.
"He's saying congratulations to one of the divers and giving a thumbs up," Bates confirmed.
Many social media users sided with Biden, with one supporter echoing Bates' comments, writing: "He was talking to someone. This is so desperate."
Throughout the event in Italy, Meloni has taken a proactive role in managing the proceedings. She personally welcomed each leader to the luxurious venue on the Apulian coast and ensured they were positioned correctly for the group photos after cordial exchanges, the Daily Mail reports.
The G7 summit has been pivotal, focusing on critical discussions such as directing resources to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets, collaborative efforts on infrastructure development, and a decade-long commitment from the U.S. to bolster Ukrainian security.
Amidst the serious discussions, the summit also featured moments of light-heartedness, including the arrival of leaders in golf carts and Fiat 500s.

So, earlier this week the very first debate in the lead up to the 2020 US Presidential election took place - and we all know how that went.
It was 90 minutes of yelling, personal attacks, and speaking over one another. And all of it made for an interesting evening, to say the least.
Check out the top moments from the first presidential debate between incumbent President Donald Trump and Joe Biden:
[[jwplayerwidget||https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/cL2XFt5w-sKUnNGKf.mp4||cL2XFt5w]]
Needless to say, eagle-eyed viewers and media outlets scrutinized pretty much everything that happened during the debate.
Even once the debate had already wrapped up, footage surfaced of President Donald Trump and his wife Melania reuniting. Many people pointed out a contrast between this and Joe Biden with his wife Jill, who went for what looked like a warm embrace.
Check the moment out below:
[[jwplayerwidget||https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/36EGDOGq-Q0L14jDU.mp4||36EGDOGq]]
While the debate itself was often reduced to something akin to a poorly rehearsed play in which every performer had forgotten their cue to speak, there were some memorable moments, too.
And in one standout incident from the night, presidential hopeful Joe Biden snapped “Would you shut up, man?” at President Trump.
Check out Twitter's reaction to the bold retort:

[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/dvillella/status/1311417991830134791]]
And there's plenty more where that came from! These are some of the other memorable lines from the debate:
“You are the worst president that America has ever had.”
“The fact is that everything he’s saying so far is simply a lie. I’m not here to call out his lies. Everybody knows he a liar.”
“It’s hard to get any word in with this clown – excuse me, this person.”
“President Trump wouldn’t know a suburb unless he took a wrong turn.”
“That was really a productive segment, wasn’t it? Keep yappin’, man.”
Meanwhile, Trump mocked Biden over the size of his face masks.
Trump stated:
“I don't wear a mask like [Biden], every time you see him, he's got a mask.
“He could be speaking 200 feet away from it, and he shows up with the biggest mask I've seen.”
Trump was also criticized for 'refusing' to condemn white supremacy. When asked to condemn white supremacist violence, Trump said the far-right Proud Boys group should "stand back and stand by." He then followed this up by saying violence in America "is not a right-wing problem. This is a left-wing problem."

Rishi Sunak has thrown support behind US President Joe Biden after social media users and critics accused him of "wandering off" during this week's G7 summit.
Both world leaders were present during a spectacular parachute display this week in Italy, during which, jumpers glided back to the ground bearing flags of each country.
However, the impressive moment was lost on social media, as critics of 81-year-old POTUS Joe Biden accused him of "wandering off" shortly after the display had concluded.
Videos shared on X (and other social media platforms), appeared to show Biden walking away from the group, before being pulled back in by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for a photo op.
As previously reportedly, political commentator Collin Rugg described the video as a "clown show", and wrote alongside the video: "President Biden appears to start wandering off at the G7 summit and has to be handled back in.
"Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was seen grabbing Biden to bring him back to the group."
With countless other critics bashing Biden, White House press secretary Andrew Bates defended the president's actions, accusing the media of a "desperate" attempt to distract from Biden's diplomatic efforts.
Now, UK PM Rishi Sunak has also confirmed that Biden was simply speaking with a parachutist.
Per The Mirror, Sunak was asked about if Biden was okay, to which, he swiftly replied: "Yes. I think he went to go talk to the pilot. I mean, or the parachutist. From what I remember, because he went to go and shake all their hands."
Sunak added: "He was being very polite. And he just went over to kind of talk to all of them individually and Giorgia (Meloni) was saying ‘Don't worry, they're all coming to [us]’.
"We were meant to line up so they could come and then shake all our hands." He added: "I had a chat with a guy with the British flag. Everyone wanted to. But they all came to us."

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau also congratulated both Biden and running mate Kamala Harris on their historic win.
"Our two countries are close friends, partners and allies," Trudeau tweeted.
"We share a relationship that's unique on the world stage. I'm really looking forward to working together and building on that with you both."

However, it appears that the first world leader to congratulate the pair on their win was Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin, who described the president-elect as a "true friend" to Ireland.
[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/MichealMartinTD/status/1325115676873388035]]
"I look forward to working with him in the years ahead," Martin said of the Biden, who has Irish heritage, per Global News. "I also look forward to welcoming him back home when the circumstances allow."
Officially confirming their projection for Biden, the Associated Press wrote: "Democrat Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States on Saturday [November 7]."

The AP added: "His victory came after more than three days of uncertainty as election officials sorted through a surge of mail-in votes that delayed the processing of some ballots. Biden crossed 270 Electoral College votes with a win in Pennsylvania."
Biden has also been declared the projected winner of the election by NBC and CNN.
It is important to note that it is common for media agencies to reveal their election projections based on voting analysis and counted ballots. (Click HERE to read why the Associated Press called Biden for Pennsylvania, and therefore, the election.)
As of this writing, Biden has earned 279 electoral votes, whereas Trump remains on 214. It is important to note that votes are still being counted.
The 2020 election saw both the Democratic and Republican candidates receive a record number of votes.
Per the Washington Post, reported that Biden had received a record 74,493,946 votes, breaking the record set by Barack Obama for most ever votes for a US presidential candidate.
Trump also received a record-breaking 70,342,988, marking a considerable increase from the votes he received in 2016.
Biden, 77, will be the oldest president in American history. The record was previously held by Donald Trump, who is 74.
In addition, Harris is now projected to become the first Black, Asian, and female vice president in US history.

President Joe Biden has spoken up about concerns surrounding his age in a new election campaign video.
The 81-year-old oldest sitting US president - who previously served as Barack Obama's vice president from 2009 to 2017 - has sparked unease among voters after several speaking mistakes were caught on camera.
One of those blunders occurred last month when Biden appeared to have confused French President Emmanuel Macron with a former leader of France... who’s been dead for nearly three decades.
During a campaign speech in Las Vegas, Nevada, the leader recounted a story about a meeting he had with Macron during a G7 summit in England back in 2021 to discuss the January 6 riots. "I sat down and I said, 'America's back,'" he recalled. "And Mitterrand from Germany - I mean from France - looked at me and said 'You know what - why - how long you back for?'"
Mitterrand became French president in 1981 and remained in office until 1995. He passed away a year later, aged 79. Meanwhile, Macron was elected in 2017, aged 39, becoming France’s youngest head of state since Napoleon.
The White House later published the remarks in the official transcript of the speech, and crossed out the name "Mitterrand" and replaced it with "Macron."
Another mishap took place that same month when Biden seemed to mistake Egypt with Mexico while referring to the ongoing Israel-Palestine war at a press conference. "The president of Mexico did not want to open up the gate to allow humanitarian material to get in," he said, per The Independent. "I talked to him. I convinced to open the gate."
Despite all the errors and ongoing speculations about his physical health, Biden was declared "fit to serve" by physician Kevin O'Connor on Febraury 28.
In a report published by the White House, O'Connor stated that "President Biden is a healthy, active, robust, 81-year-old male, who remains fit to execute the duties of the presidency, to include those as chief executive, head of state and commander in chief."
He added that Biden had undergone "an extremely detailed neurologic exam", which was "again reassuring" with no findings of cerebellar or neurologic disorders, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson's disease.
Now, with the 2024 Presidential elections set to take place this year, Biden released a commercial in which he directly addresses the comments about his advancing age.
Watch the campaign ad below:
"Look I'm not a young guy. That's no secret," he jokes while speaking to the camera. "But here's the deal, I understand how to get things done for the American people.
"I led the country through the Covid crisis," he continues in the ad. "Today, we have the strongest economy in the world. I passed a law that lowers prescription drug prices, caps insulin at $35 a month for seniors."
Biden then opened up about his opponent Donald Trump, pointing out that for four years he "tried to pass an infrastructure law and he failed," adding: "I got it done. Now we’re rebuilding America. I’ve passed the biggest law in history to combat climate change because our future depends on it."
The president promised to make Roe v Wade "the law of the land again," criticizing Trump for taking away "the freedom of women to choose," and slamming: "Donald Trump believes the job of the president is to take care of Donald Trump.
"I believe the job of the president is to fight for you, the American people, and that’s what I’m doing," he concluded. "I'm Joe Biden and I approve this message."
The end of the ad features an outtake as a producer off-camera asks Biden for one more take, to which he quips: "Look, I’m very young, energetic, and handsome. What the hell am I doing this for?"
The commercial is part of a recently announced $30 million battleground state ad buy and will air on digital platforms and national cable, local broadcast, and cable television in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina, per CBS News.
