Virginia Giuffre has died at the age of 41.
Her family confirmed her death on Saturday morning in a statement, which read: "It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia."

Sharing Giuffre's cause of death, the family continued: "She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking."
The heartbreaking statement added: "Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors. In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight."
Western Australia Police said they were called to a home in the Neergabby area on Friday night, where Giuffre was found unresponsive. The police stated: "The death is being investigated by Major Crime detectives; early indication is the death is not suspicious."
Virginia Giuffre made headlines across the globe when she alleged that she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was a teenager. She sued Prince Andrew for sexual abuse in August 2021. The Duke of York has repeatedly denied the claims and has not been charged with any criminal offences.

In February 2022, it was revealed that Giuffre and Prince Andrew had reached an out-of-court settlement. The settlement included a "substantial donation to Ms Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights," but the sum agreed between the parties was not disclosed. The agreement avoided a trial.
Giuffre claimed she was trafficked and forced to have sex with Prince Andrew at Ghislaine Maxwell’s house in London after a night out at the club Tramp. She also claimed she was forced to have sex with him on at least two further occasions by Maxwell and Epstein.
Prince Andrew, Virginia Giuffre, and Ghislaine Maxwell were photographed together, with the image made public during legal proceedings.
Epstein, who had been convicted in 2008 for soliciting prostitution from a minor, died by suicide in custody in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced in June 2022 to 20 years in prison for her role in procuring underage girls for Epstein. In court, Giuffre made a statement read by her lawyer: "Together, you did unthinkable things that still have a corrosive impact on me to this day. I want to be clear about one thing: without question, Jeffrey Epstein was a terrible paedophile. But I never would have met Jeffrey Epstein if not for you. For me, and for so many others, you opened the door to hell. You could have put an end to the rapes, the molestations, the sickening manipulations that you arranged, witnessed and even took part in.
"You could’ve called the authorities and reported that you were a part of something awful."
Maxwell’s appeal against her conviction and sentence was rejected by a US court in September 2024.
In March 2025, Giuffre was involved in a bus crash in Perth, Western Australia. Following the crash, she was hospitalised and later revealed she was suffering from kidney failure.

On Instagram, she expressed her wish to see her children "one last time" and stated she had "four days to live."
Adding further complexity to the situation, it later emerged that Giuffre had been scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates’ Court 10 days before the crash, facing allegations of breaching a family violence restraining order. She is also reportedly estranged from her husband Robert and their children following a recent separation.
“My beautiful babies have no clue how much I love them, and they’re being poisoned with lies,” she wrote in a post two days before the crash.
Her family stated that she is survived by her three children: Christian, Noah, and Emily.
Her publicist, Dini von Mueffling, said in a statement: "She adored her children and many animals. She was always more concerned with me than with herself. I will miss her beyond words. It was the privilege of a lifetime to represent her."
The family added: "Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure."
Our thoughts go out to Giuffre's family and loved ones at this time.
