1. Thirteen
This number appears several times in the video - namely: a number plate, a boom box, and a game of snake - and is known to be her lucky number. While it may seem like another attempt of hers to be kooky and alternative, T-Swift's birthday is actually on December 13th, so we'll let this one slide.2. Snakes
Remember when Kim K called T Swift a snake? The beef between the Kardashians and Swift goes way back to Kanye's famous, "Imma let you finish" interruption during the singer's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV awards.

Well, the beef between them still isn't over, and Swift keeps chucking snakes in her videos whenever she can. We already mentioned the game of snake that shows the number 13, but Swift also wears snake earrings at one point in the video.
3. A specific snake
Back in September last year, makeup artist and world-class shade-thrower Jeffree Star posted this image of himself in a snakeskin jumpsuit and described it as "Taylor Swift's skin".

Sticking with the animal theme here, Tay Tay also includes a couple of references to her feline friends. The singer has two moggies of her own, and at one point a little black cat can be seen in the background of a shot. What's more, a sign from the Tokyo scene of the video features her cats' names in Japanese - plus a few more hidden lyrics from the song, and a reference to Ed Sheeran's The A-Team.

5. Ed Sheeran
The above tweet already points out that one of the signs says "A-Team" in Japanese, but there are a couple more references to Sheeran's song. As the British singer is featured on the track, he also appears in the video - but more eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed what Taylor is wearing while talking to Sheeran during his part of the video. It's difficult to make out, but her shirt has an "A" on it - an obvious nod to his 2011 hit single.
6. Other songs
All of the hidden Easter eggs mentioned so far are undoubtedly clever, but it's the references to her other songs that really set this video apart for her fans. At the beginning of the video, for instance, she appears to be holding an "Old Fashioned" - the drink she mentions in Getaway Car.
Later on, she attends a New Year's party, which seems like a pretty overt nod to New Year's Day, another track from the album.
Last but not least, Swift can also be seen in a car driving through the rain - a shot that is almost paralleled in the music video for Wildest Dreams.
No matter your opinions on ol' Swifty, you have to admit she did pretty well to orchestrate so many hidden messages in such a short clip.
