Ben Affleck has revealed his hilarious reason why he doesn't want to be photographed with Chris Hemsworth, and it's something that most people will understand.

It must be hard being a movie star, right? Constantly having photographers following you around, capturing every move you make - with the smallest slip-up expected to go viral on the internet.

That's why a lot of stars are always looking their best like they're ready to be on the cover of Vogue at a moment's notice - but what about when you're friends with other celebrities who make you feel a bit insecure?

This is what Ben Affleck is currently battling with as he promotes his upcoming movie Air alongside his long-time friend Matt Damon.

During an interview with Insider, Affleck revealed that Damon often "raves" about Australia and that he is basically an "honorary citizen".

While the Batman actor did express interest in visiting the country down under, he made it very clear that he wouldn't be seen next to Australian actor Chris Hemsworth... and all because he doesn't think he looks as good as him.

Affleck joked: "Matt’s basically, as far as I can tell, an honorary citizen he is there so much – he’s friends with Chris Hemsworth and I think that shows enormous character of Matt to be friends with a guy that much younger and better looking than him."

"Good in practice – but I don’t want to sit next to Chris Hemsworth in photographs, so I applaud Matt," Affleck continued. "But I’d love to come. I’m hoping one day Chris will invite me to come down and stay at his place, as long as I don’t have to take any shirtless pictures next to him."

Damon spent six months in Australia while Thor: Love and Thunder was being filmed and during that time he became good friends with Hemsworth, and it seems as if Affleck is ready to hang out too, provided there are no cameras.

Affleck and Damon have been good friends for decades, even attending the same high school together and living with each other when they were attempting to break into the world of showbiz.

In an interview with Insider, Damon's brother explained that the pair weren't considered to be cool at school and that they were actually "drama geeks".

Their most notable big break was when the pair penned the hit movie Good Will Hunting and starred in it alongside the late Robin Williams.

The pair remain good friends to this day, although maybe a topless photo shoot with Chris Hemsworth isn't on the cards right now.
