Earlier this week, TMZ reported that supermodel Gigi Hadid and singer Zayn Malik were "expecting their first child together" after reuniting in December.

The news came after a family friend let the big news slip to TMZ, but now the 25-year-old model has confirmed the incredible news during a heartfelt interview with Jimmy Fallon.

After The Tonight Show host congratulated Hadid, she replied: "Thank you so much! Obviously, you know, we wish we could've announced it on our own terms, but we're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support so..."

Fallon then said that it was "the best news you could ever have in the entire world - even in this crazy world. [...] It was a ray of sunshine that we all needed."

Offering his advice to the first-time mom, Fallon then said: "I will tell you this, tons of people will give you advice and say, 'Oh they grow up so fast, enjoy it'. I don't wanna be that person, because they are kind of right. But don't overdo it, just be present for every part of it."

To which Hadid replied: "I’m trying. Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience it day by day."

Fallon then went on to wish Hadid a belated happy birthday, as she celebrated turning 25 on April 23. Discussing some of the photos she shared of her special day on Instagram, the model revealed what food she has been craving during her pregnancy.

"My craving has been everything bagels," she said. "I eat an everything bagel every day and so I was already like, so excited that my birthday cake was the everything bagel."

Hadid then told "Uncle Jimmy" that she cried after receiving a huge cake from Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro, explaining that she is a huge fan of both him and the show.

Malik, 27, has yet to publicly comment on the pregnancy.

Per TMZ's original report on April 28, Hadid is allegedly 20 weeks pregnant at this point and is expecting a baby girl.

Back in February of this year, Hadid spoke with i-D magazine about her wish to have children, as well as her ambitions in the fashion industry. She said: "I think that as I get older... well one day I'll start a family and I don't know if I will always be modeling. I love the creative side of fashion, it’s so fulfilling. The people I work with make me so happy, I'm so lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I'll take up full-time cooking!"

After weeks of speculation, during which some fans thought she might have already given birth, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have now announced that they've welcomed their first baby together, and it's a girl!

Fans first started speculating that Hadid may have already given birth when her father Mohammed Hadid, posted a handwritten note to Instagram titled Grandpa's heart, along with the caption, "In the name of God the The merciful I want to say l love you and so proud of you. @gigihadid," per E! News.

Now, though, Zayn Malik has confirmed that he and Gigi Hadid have welcomed their baby daughter together, taking to Twitter to write, "Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful to try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding.Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x"

It sounds like everything's chill between the photogenic pair, but Joe's most recent post on social media was kind of salty. He shared a photo of himself shirtless, with the caption: "When Life throws you lemons , catch em so they don’t hit you in the f--king face." So, that's cryptic. Also, at about the same time, he unfollowed Gigi Hadid on Instagram, as well as her mom, Yolanna Hadid. That would seem to indicate the split is a little bitter, anonymous source at The Sun.

Gigi and Zayn were last pictured together in January. I know, it's hard not to roll your eyes, when you hear a supermodel and a pop star complain about how 'crazy' their 'work schedules' are. But reportedly they have been spending a lot of time apart lately. While Gigi's been strutting down runways all over the world, Zayn's been tethered to his studio in Miami, recording new music. Long distance relationships are tough, even for the ridiculously, ridiculously good-looking.

Back in March, we all got an awful shock when we learned that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik had broken up after two years of dating. Having all put a lot of time and effort into shipping the couple, it was hard to accept that things were over - and even tougher when the former lovers took to social media to confirm the news to their fans.

Posting an emotional message to Twitter, Zayn was first to comment, saying: "Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul. I'm grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first. However, despite the heartbreaking social media posts, ever since they broke up speculation has been rife that the couple have found their way back to one another. And now it seems to have been officially confirmed.

After attending the star-studded Ocean's 8 premiere in New York City - walking the red carpet with fellow model Lily Aldridge - Gigi took to social media once again to post a picture of an adorable "afterparty". It was a very exclusive afterparty that only one other person was invited to. You can guess where I'm going with this...

While it's true that in the picture we can't see Zayn's face, we can see his peroxide blonde hair and the trademark racing flag tattoo he has on his arm. All clues point to the couple reuniting and having a night in together playing Pokémon. Pretty cute, right?

It comes as no big surprise that the pair are back together after a few months apart. In April, a mere month after their very public split, the 22-year-old model and 25-year-old singer were seen sharing a passionate kiss while walking in the Big Apple. Things even got a little heated as Zayn gently pushed Gigi up against a wall to continue their make-out session.

So, although we haven't heard the words come out of their mouths, we can conclude from the extensive evidence that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are officially back on. May they have many more adorable Pokémon nights to come.
