Ben Affleck responds to rumor his real penis was shown in 'Gone Girl'
Hollywood star Ben Affleck has once again spoken out about one of the steamiest scenes in 2014 film, Gone Girl.
The seasoned actor has responded to rumors about his shower scene with Rosamund Pike in the thriller-mystery, and whether that really was his manhood on screen.
Affleck, 54, has long had to deal with speculation about what viewers really saw during the film, and if he used prosthetics or not.
The dad-of-three's private area has been a topic of discussion among fans over the years, with rumors being fueled by the comments of some of his co-stars and ex-girlfriends.
But now, Affleck has spoken out about his manhood in an interview with Variety, admitting that what was seen in the shower scene was really his.
Affleck reveals it was his penis on screen
“I wore no prosthesis,” Affleck admitted, adding: “I’ve only worn one in one film, Hollywoodland. It was a nose.”
Affleck's character, Nick Dunne, can be seen getting into the shower during the shot, with viewers being shown more than they'd bargained for.
It means that the speculation can stop, with the actor confirming all the noise around the film, which was David Fincher’s adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s 2012 novel.
Despite the explicit scene hitting screens for the first time 12 years ago, viewers have been fascinated ever since.
Gone Girl, which also featured star names like Pike, Emily Ratajkowski and Neil Patrick Harris, was nominated for an Oscar and BAFTA in addition to other awards, with the film going down as a success among critics and viewers alike.
Affleck opens up on working with Fincher
The Batman v Superman star sat down with Letterboxd earlier this week, singing the praises of director David Fincher, claiming it was 'the great privilege of my life' to work with him.
He admitted: “I think he’s one of the absolute greatest filmmakers ever to live," as Affleck went on: “I love him. I fell in love with him and got to know him and adore him. His spirit, his genius.
"He really is one of these few people who has the taste of an artist and the mind of an engineer. Those things don’t typically seem to come together,” he explained.
“Every movie that he does is done masterfully, where you feel the sense, and it’s like you can relax.”
The actor joked: “I was willing to do anything for him… like be naked.”
Ben Affleck speaks about nude scene
While Affleck's former partners have sung his praises in the bedroom previously, he is understandably modest about it all.
Speaking at the Hollywood Film Awards in 2014, he said: "I want to take this opportunity to thank David for the way he treated me. In particular, we had a shower scene in the movie.
"And David assured me, because trust is essential with directors and actors: 'Listen, if we tilt down we will never go far enough to see anything.'
"So, thank you, David. And I'd like to thank you for keeping the set cool.
"Because if you are gonna have one chance for America to see your junk you want it to be cold. It's a real gift," the actor joked.
