Ellen DeGeneres once called Steve Jobs to complain about her iPhone, former producer claims
A former associate producer on The Ellen Show has spoken to the New York Post about their time on the hit talk show, and described the beloved host as living in a "privileged bubble".
Recalling one particular incident in Ellen's office several years ago, the former associate producer claimed that DeGeneres once lost her glasses and couldn’t read the text on her iPhone, prompting her to call Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

The producer - who has remained anonymous - revealed:
"She stopped everything and made a call. Next thing we know, we literally hear Steve Jobs pick up and say, 'Hi, Ellen'.
"Ellen told him the iPhone should have a bigger font. That’s her. It’s not that she’s some demon. She just lives in an incredibly privileged bubble and is out of touch with the real world."
This comes after a former security guard who worked for DeGeneres described his time on the show as "demeaning".
Speaking to Fox News, Tom Majercak disclosed that he was hired to protect DeGeneres and her mother and wife, Portia de Rossi, for the night of the 2014 Oscars, but that DeGeneres was rather cold.
"I'm holding their hands and walking them through individuals and large groups of people," he told the publication. "Ellen is the one person that I've been assigned to — and I've been assigned to quite a few celebrities — that has never taken the time to say hi to me."
Majercak did say that while actress Portia was "very pleasant and carried on a conversation", his experience with the famed talk show host was "kind of demeaning".
"Ellen pretty much just gave me a side glance out of her eye and didn't even say 'hello,' or 'thank you for protecting my mother, my wife, and me,'" he claimed.
YouTube sensation and beauty blogger NikkiTutorials has also recently spoken out about being interviewed by Ellen, as rumors continue to swirl regarding her frosty persona.
In two revealing interviews, the YouTuber NikkieTutorials, also known as Nikkie De Jager, slammed DeGeneres, describing her as “distant and cold”, and detailing her experience on The Ellen Show.
“Call me naive, but I kind of expected to be welcomed with confetti cannons: ‘Welcome to The Ellen DeGeneres Show!’ But instead, I was greeted by an angry intern who was a bit overworked,” the 26-year-old makeup artist said in a translated version of an interview with Dutch publication & C. ''I was expecting a Disney show, but got Teletubbies after dark.''

Nikkie went on to speak about how she was forbidden from using the nearest bathroom, which was apparently reserved for a bigger celebrity that was due to go on next. Instead, she was told to use the public bathroom.
“I was not allowed to use the nearest toilet, because it was reserved for the Jonas Brothers. Why do they get a private toilet, I thought,” she explained.
However, Ellen executive producer Mary Connelly - who has worked on the show since its inception - has told the New York Post that she has never seen DeGeneres exhibit the kind of diva behavior that has recently been reported.
Connelly said: "None of what’s being said speaks to the Ellen I know.
"Do the producers and her sometimes have to make unpopular decisions? Yes. Ellen is not afraid to tell you when she doesn’t like something. She’s had tough conversations with me. That’s a function of everyday life. But the person I know is someone who comes in every day and wants to put on a fun show in a fun environment and help people."
