Elon Musk has some intense thoughts on populating the planet, as he "wants smart people to have kids" - which he thinks of himself as, given the fact that he has 11 children of his own.

In an upcoming biography by journalist Walter Isaacson titled 'Elon Musk,' the billionaire entrepreneur and founder of companies like Tesla and SpaceX has revealed some secrets about his family life.

The  52-year-old billionaire has often been outspoken about his beliefs that we as a species must seek to have more babies to help the population, but it appears that he would prefer it if only "smart people" did this, per People.

The book also highlights Musk's longstanding concerns about declining birth rates worldwide. Musk had taken to Twitter, now known as X, to voice his apprehensions, stating in July 2022: "A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far," and emphasizing his commitment to addressing the "underpopulation crisis."

The biography, set to be released today (September 12), unveils insights from Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, who welcomed twins with Musk in November 2021, shedding light on Musk's unconventional stance on parenthood.

Zilis, who had initially planned to use an anonymous sperm donor, revealed that Musk actively encouraged her to have children. She said: "He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to do this."

Eventually, Musk even suggested that he could be the donor himself, an offer Zilis accepted. She expressed her confidence in Musk's genes, stating: "I can't possibly think of genes I would prefer for my children."

Zilis and Musk welcomed their twins, named Strider and Azure, through in vitro fertilization, around the same time Musk and his ex-partner, Grimes (real name Claire Boucher), were expecting their second child, as detailed in Isaacson's biography.

In addition to his twins with Zilis, Musk has eight other children from previous relationships: three with Grimes and five with his first wife, Justine Wilson, as well as a son who tragically passed away at 10 weeks old.

More recently, Musk and Grimes welcomed their third child, a son named Techno Mechanicus.

Their unique family also includes a son named X Æ A-Xii, originally named X Æ A-12, born in 2020, and a daughter born via surrogate in December 2021 named Exa Dark Sideræl.

Rather bizarrely, Grimes has revealed that Musk shared images of her getting a C-section with their friends and family, and he couldn't fathom why it was the wrong thing to do.

"He was just clueless about why I'd be upset," Grimes said.

While Musk takes pride in his role as a father, he made it clear in a Wall Street Journal interview in May that he doesn't believe in automatically passing on his companies to his children.

He stated: "I am definitely not of the school of automatically giving my kids some shares of the companies, even if they have no interest or inclination or ability to manage the company."

Musk is never short of bizarre statements, is he?
