Johnny Depp is clearly thankful for the legion of fans supporting him in his defamation trial against former partner Amber Heard.
The 58-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing ex-wife Heard, 36, after she referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse" in an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post back in 2018.
Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million, claiming she was only ever violent against her ex-husband in self-defense or defense of her younger sister, per NBC News. Depp has denied any allegations that he was ever physically abusive in their relationship.
Throughout the duration of the trial, fans of the stars have been gathering outside of the Virginia County Courthouse in Fairfax to voice their support.
Many fans have brought signs - one person even brought alpacas to cheer up Depp - and it would seem that the actor has been overwhelmed by the support he is receiving.
As he arrived at the courthouse on Thursday, Depp could be seen exiting his SUV to cheers from his fans, who were positioned outside of the courthouse.
Check out the video below:Prior to entering the building, Depp then says to the press: "I just made breakfast for all of them this morning," before adding, "Waffles."
Of course, Depp's comment is most likely just a joke - given that there are hundreds of fans outside the gates cheering him on. In fact, the Daily Mail states that a reporter spoke to one of the actor's fans and asked if he really made them all waffles, to which the fan said he was just making a "cute joke".
This also isn't Depp's first joke to the press about his fans, having previously told reporters and photographers that he has "a lot of relatives" in response to the huge number of supporters waiting outside the court.
For what it's worth, the Daily Mail also notes that Depp's SUV was "blaring" reggae music as he pulled up to the courthouse.
Additionally, for some of Depp's fans, being there to support the actor in person has racked up huge bills.
Speaking to PEOPLE, one fan by the name of Sharon Smith revealed that she flew from the UK in order to attend the trial.
The 52-year-old superfan revealed that after ending a 12-year relationship back in Britain, she flew out to Virginia to offer support for Depp when the trial began last month.
Smith told the publication that when the trial is not in session, she flies to Los Angeles and stays there.
She says that with the hotels, flights, food, and other expenses, she's spent "about $10,000" to be there.
However, one fan says they have spent three times as much to be there for Depp.
Los Angeles native Ivan De Boer, 59, revealed to PEOPLE that she has used all her paid vacation time for the year in order to attend the trial to support the Edward Scissorhands star.
"I took my whole year's vacation so I could be here for Johnny," she told the publication. "I'm the same age as Johnny. I'm single, so I do what I want to, basically."
All-in-all, De Boer says she has racked up $30,000 on expenses - but adds that she has "no regrets".
"I'd regret it more if I wasn't here," she added.
