Orlando Bloom may have accidentally discovered the secret to a happy relationship back in 2024 and apparently it involved doing the dishes.
The actor, now 49, left fans invested after issuing a five-word response to an X-rated confession made by then-fiancée Katy Perry during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
Speaking to host Alex Cooper, the 'I Kissed a Girl' singer revealed that acts of service were her ultimate love language, explaining that Bloom helping around the house was far more appealing than any expensive gifts.
"If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you've done it all, all the dishes, closed the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d**k sucked," Perry joked.
The singer doubled down moments later, adding: "I don't need a red Ferrari. I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f**king dishes."
Bloom didn't let the comments go unanswered.
Commenting underneath Perry's Instagram post promoting the podcast episode, the Pirates of the Caribbean star simply wrote: "I've cleaned the whole house."
The response quickly went viral, racking up thousands of likes and earning praise from fans who appreciated the actor's sense of humour.
At the time, Perry and Bloom were one of Hollywood's most talked-about couples.
The pair first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 before getting engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019. They welcomed daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020 and frequently spoke about the work they had put into maintaining their relationship.
During the same podcast interview, Perry revealed that the couple had previously spent a year apart before reconnecting.
She explained that Bloom had attended the Hoffman Institute, a personal development programme designed to help participants work through unhealthy behavioural patterns and emotional habits.
Perry later attended herself.
"I got the tools and spoke the same language," she said. "It changed my life."
After nearly a decade together, Perry and Bloom confirmed their split in 2025, though the former couple continue to co-parent their daughter. Perry has since moved on to a new romance with Justin Trudeau, the former Prime Minister of Canada.
Still, while the romance may be over, Bloom's five-word response remains one of the internet's favourite celebrity relationship moments.
And if nothing else, it probably encouraged a few people to finally load the dishwasher.

Orlando Bloom may have once claimed the title of World’s Best Housekeeper, and not because of his dusting skills alone.
The 47-year-old actor gave the perfect reaction after fiancée Katy Perry dropped a not-so-subtle bombshell on the Call Her Daddy podcast back in 2024.
In a candid chat with host Alex Cooper, Perry revealed that tidiness around the house can lead to some very adult rewards.
“If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done it all, all the dishes, closed the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d**k sucked,” the pop star said with a laugh.
Never one to miss a beat, Bloom later cheekily commented on one of Perry's Instagram posts, which featured photos from her podcast appearance, writing: “I’ve cleaned the whole house.”
The comment quickly went viral, racking up over 5,000 likes and hundreds of replies from amused fans.
Perry, 41, and Bloom were together for eight years and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
The pair separated in mid-2025, but share a daughter, Daisy Dove, born in August 2020.
Bloom also co-parents his 13-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
On the podcast, Perry didn't hold back, calling domestic chores her ultimate love language.
“I don’t need a red Ferrari,” she joked.
“I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f**king dishes! I will suck your d**k! It’s that easy.”
It's fair to say that the pair's relationship wasn't just playful banter.
Perry also opened up about the early challenges in her relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
The couple briefly split for a year, during which Bloom decided to focus on personal growth by enrolling at the Hoffman Institute, a wellness retreat that helps participants work through emotional patterns and habits.
Inspired by his transformation, Perry attended the program herself.
“I got the tools, and we started speaking the same language,” she said, adding, “It changed my life. I would be dead without it, I would not be on this planet without that process and meditation.”
Bloom, too, was open about their relationship journey.
On What Now? With Trevor Noah, he described the balancing act of maintaining a romance between two global stars.
“I wouldn’t change it for anything,” he said. “Even when it feels like, ‘How do we do this?’ we just keep coming back to each other.”
He added: “I try to hold her hand and walk her back to the sandpit and say, ‘Let’s just build a sandcastle.’”
Ultimately, it wasn't enough to save their marriage, although they might have had a cleaner house for a while there...

Orlando Bloom has given an eyebrow-raising response after his fiancée Katy Perry revealed that she will immediately give him oral sex if he does one thing.
Perry recently made a candid and unexpected revelation about her relationship with her fiancé during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
Perry, known for her chart-topping hits, didn’t shy away from sharing intimate details about her relationship with Bloom.
In a teaser for the episode, she discussed what gets her in the mood, stating: "If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you've done it all, and you've done all the dishes, and you've closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d*** sucked."
The singer added: “I don’t need a red Ferrari! I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f****** dishes. I will suck your d***! It’s that easy,” describing it as her personal "love language."
It seems as if her comments made it back to her fiancé who has now responded.
In response to an Instagram post about Perry’s podcast appearance, the Pirates of the Caribbean star wrote: "I’ve cleaned the whole house," hinting at the possible rewards for his efforts.
Before finding happiness together, both Perry and Bloom were previously married to other partners.

Perry added that she now values partners who genuinely help and support her, a trait she clearly sees in Bloom.
On a separate podcast, Bloom expressed his deep love and admiration for Perry, calling her "Katheryn, this girl from Santa Barbara."
Reflecting on their non-glamorous upbringings, he said, "We’re not talking glamorous, Montecito."
He further emphasized the strength of their bond, despite the demands of their high-profile careers, saying: "I think I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sandpit… we’re just gonna build a sandcastle."

Singer Katy Perry has revealed the one thing a partner would have to do to get immediate oral sex from her.
In a previous episode of the iconic 'Call Her Daddy' podcast, Perry opened up about her relationship dynamics with her then-partner, Orlando Bloom.
The superstar couple had been together from 2016 until 2025, also taking a short hiatus in 2017.
The actor proposed to Perry in 2019 and while they were forced to halt their wedding plans due to the pandemic in 2020, they went on to welcome their daughter, Daisy Dove, to the world in August 2020 - Perry's first child and Bloom's second after son Flynn Bloom, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.
While the pair have since split up, the 'I Kissed A Girl' singer previously made a very X-rated admission on Alex Cooper's notorious podcast about their relationship.
When speaking of the things that get her all hot and flustered during a teaser, she said: "If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you've done it all, and you've done all the dishes, and you've closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d*** sucked."
Describing it as her "love language", she added: "I don't need a red Ferrari! I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f****** dishes. I will suck your d***! It's that easy."
Of course, the comments under the video were hilarious.
"You better believe Orlando is scrubbing the entire kitchen right now," wrote one user, while another added: "Katy Perry is right. It’s really that easy, fellas."
"Absolutely unhinged and IM BEYOND HERE FOR IT," a third chimed in.
Elsewhere, the American Idol judge also revealed her "red flags" she doesn't settle for anymore.
"I'm no longer attracted to narcissists," she told the host. "Anyone that is constantly changing the goal post, or pulling the rug out from you emotionally. Not it."
"Anyone that says they know you better than you know yourself. Someone that won't just help," she added.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are the latest in a slew of celebrities to decide to tie the knot.
The pair, who have been involved in an on-and-off relationship for three years, took to social media last month to announce the happy news.
Perry posted a photo of herself and Bloom to Instagram, which showcased her unconventional, vintage pink engagement ring. "Full bloom," she captioned the snap.

Bloom posted the same photo to his Instagram, simply adding "Lifetimes".

In a separate Instagram posted on V-Day, the Pirates of the Caribbean star wrote "A shallow person will only have shallow relationships. Real love is not one person clinging to another, it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality."
And while he didn't mention his now-fiancée by name, he did proceed to quote Antoine de Saint-Exupery, author of The Little Prince: "Love is not two people gazing at each other, but two people looking ahead together in the same direction."
And it like seems the couple are just as loved up, a month on. This past weekend, Bloom posted a rather - er - saucy photoshoot to Instagram, with one pic featuring the actor in just his swim trunks.
Phew.

Naturally, his fiancée didn't let this slide. The singer blew up his comments section, writing "SHE SAID HELL YAS," "I HAVE A FEVER," "I'M SWEATING," and "I'M FOAMING AT THE MOUTH."

Perry and Bloom have been rather up-and-down in recent years. They were initially together for a year, before they split in February of 2017. "We can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time," representatives for the two celebrities told PEOPLE at the time.
A month later, Perry took to social media to clarify that all was well between the two after the breakup. "HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017!?" she wrote. "U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!"
"We’re friends, it’s good," Bloom corroborated in Elle UK's May 2017 issue. "We’re all grown up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares about what I’m up to. Nor should they. It’s between us. It’s better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don’t have to be about hate."

However, just six months later, it seemed like it was all back on. "Orlando and Katy are great. They are dating exclusively again and things seem more serious," an insider told PEOPLE at the time. "They are both excited about it and don’t want to hide, but at the same time they are trying to keep privacy as well. … It’s obvious that they both missed each other after their split. … It’s obvious that they both missed each other after their split."
And in May of 2018, Perry made it official, announcing "I'm not single" during the American Idol finale.
Well, they're certainly not single now...
