Reason Nikki Glaser allows her boyfriend to have sex with other women - 'I kind of like it'
Nikki Glaser has revealed why she is completely okay with her boyfriend being intimate with other women.
The 41-year-old comedian appeared on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast to share her perspective on love, commitment, and what works for her.
"In a relationship, I don't really care if my boyfriend were to hook up [with others]," she told Cooper. "But that is not a two-way street."
"I'm not someone who likes to hook up when I'm in a relationship. I don't really care about that. But I don't care if someone else were to. In fact, I kind of like it," she added.
Glaser is currently dating TV producer Chris Convy, whom she has been seeing on and off since meeting in 2013 while working on her MTV show Nikki & Sara.
She described him as her first serious boyfriend and didn’t hold back when discussing how she views long-term relationships.
"Innately, it is settling," she said. "You do not know that the person you are with is the best person for you. There's too many people on this planet, you haven't met any of them. You never will. So you have to settle."
She went even further, questioning the idea of "the one," saying: "The odds of someone meeting the person 'best for you' are kind of low…"
"I don't believe in soulmates, and I do believe you have to go like, you know what, ‘This is the best I can do right now, and I'm gonna just cash in my chips because I probably could do better, but who knows?’”
When Cooper asked how her partner feels about that outlook, Glaser replied: "He totally understands that there's someone better for him too," before adding that she does not believe she’s “the love of his life."
"I mean, I'm a love of his life," she said. "I just think that he has many loves of his life, probably. And that there's probably a woman that is so much more compatible for him than me, like would be so much better, like truly."
Why She Encourages Him To Explore
Glaser said she encourages Convy to connect with other women because she wants "a guy who other girls want".
Her boyfriend has "done some stuff" with other women, she confirmed, adding: "He probably wouldn't appreciate me elaborating on that, but there's been interesting things that have been really fun for me to hear about and experience… Sometimes I'm too busy to be really sexy, so I'm like, 'Go out and get some attention.'"
This is not a new stance for the comedian as she spoke about this in the 2022 interview with Graham Bensinger, adding: "Everyone has their own kinky thing. My thing is, I don’t mind that."
She also made it clear that the arrangement is one-sided. "It’s not [my] thing," she said at the time, though she admitted it "might be my thing someday."
Her comments have sparked strong reactions online. "Weird and disgusting," one slammed, while another reacted: "This is crazy but to each their own."
Others were more supportive: "If you know about it and agree with it, it’s not cheating it’s called open relationship. Good for you guys!" one user defended.
A second agreed: "y'all don’t wanna hear it but what she’s saying make sense im sorry. complete monogamy, especially for men, is just not always natural im sorry."
Glaser continues to stay busy outside of her relationship. Her latest comedy special, Nikki Glaser: Good Girl, is set to debut on Hulu on April 24.
She is also part of the upcoming film The Angry Birds Movie 3, which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 23.
