Jackie Stallone, the mother of Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone, has died at the age of 98.
The news was confirmed by Sly's younger brother, singer Frank Stallone, in an emotional Facebook post.
Writing alongside a picture of his mother, Frank typed: "This morning my brothers and I lost our mother Jackie Stallone.
"She was the mother to four children, Tommy, Sylvester, Frankie and my late sister Toni Ann.
She was a remarkable woman working out every day full of spunk and fearless.
"She died in her sleep as she had wished.
"It was hard not to like her, she was very eccentric and flamboyant person. She was born on November 29th 1921 in Washington DC, she lived through prohibition, the depression and World War II.
"I would talk to her for hours about the 20's 30's and 40's. It was a history lesson. Her mind was as sharp as a razor till the day she died. She never wore a mask a true revolutionary gal."

An emotional Frank added: "I guess I'm drowning my emotions in tears and [too] much vino. But when you've known someone for 70 yrs it tough and sad.
"She had seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. My brother Sylvester took care of her like a Queen for all of her life. I will never be able to call my mom again or have her yell at me why I never got married. But we all loved her and her sprit to survive and prevail.
"I'll miss you always mommy."
As well as being known for being the mother of Sylvester Stallone, Jackie was also a famed astrologer.
Jackie was also a creator and trainer on the popular 80s television show G.L.O.W., The Gorgeous Girls of Wrestling, which ran for five years and later had a fictional Netflix comedy-drama series based on it.
UK audiences may also know Jackie for her appearance in the 2008 series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Per The Mirror, Jackie married her first of three husbands - Frank Stallone Sr. - back in 1945. The couple's marriage lasted 12 years, and ended in divorce in 1957, after having Sylvester and Frank Jr.
Two years later, in 1959, Jackie married Anthony Filiti, who is the father of her late daughter, Toni D'Alto, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 48 after a lengthy cancer battle.
Then, in 1998, Jackie married her current husband, Stephen Levine.
