Norris continued with heartfelt words, honoring Wilma’s enduring legacy: “Our mom was a woman of unwavering faith, a beacon of light in our lives, and her love reflected God’s grace. Growing up, her laughter filled our home with joy, and her hugs provided a sense of safety that we will forever cherish.”

The martial artist spoke tenderly about the lessons she instilled: “She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel special, often putting the needs of others before her own. From my earliest memories, she taught me the importance of kindness and compassion.

Wilma Norris was a cornerstone of Chuck’s life. Born into a family of Irish and Cherokee descent, she raised Chuck and his two brothers, Aaron and Wieland, often under difficult circumstances. Chuck’s father, Ray Dee Norris, was a World War II veteran, but the family faced challenges, including divorce when Chuck was just 16.

Wilma’s strength and faith carried the family forward as they moved from Oklahoma to Prairie Village, Kansas, and eventually to Torrance, California. Her love and resilience laid the foundation for Chuck’s success as a martial artist and actor.

Wilma’s life was not without its heartbreak. In 1970, Chuck’s younger brother Wieland tragically lost his life in the Vietnam War.

Through it all, Wilma remained a pillar of faith and compassion, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Chuck’s tribute reminds us all of the timeless power of a mother’s love. Our thoughts go out to Norris and his family at this time.
