It wouldn't be too much of a reach to suggest that the last few weeks have been somewhat turbulent for Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Earlier this month, singer/songwriter August Alsina stunned fans when he claimed that Will had given his "blessing" for Alsina and Jada Pinkett Smith to enter into a relationship.

Watch Jada Pinkett Smith break down in tears apologizing to Will Smith's ex-wife:

"I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation [...] He gave me his blessing," Alsina said.

"I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really, deeply loved and have a ton of love for her (Jada). I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it. So much so that I can die right now, and be OK knowing that I fully gave myself to somebody ... Some people never get that in this lifetime."

Will and Jada later denied this during an astonishingly candid installment of their Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk.

Discussing his wife’s affair with Alsina, 51-year-old Will said:

"I wasn’t sure I was ever going to speak to you again. The fact that I’m speaking to you again is a miracle.

"[Marriage] ain’t for the weak at heart. There’s just certain things that you have to go through… I sure wish it could be all magic and miracles."

It was also during this interview that Jada Pinkett Smith used the now-infamous phrase, a “different kind of entanglement” to describe her relationship with August Alsina.

Fans immediately seized on the phrase, which has since passed into celebrity folklore. And now, Will Smith has engaged with a commenter on his Instagram page, who made a joke underneath a video that the actor posted.

Will posted a video of himself using a jump rope, with a camera attached to the rope. Naturally, after a few jumps, the actor took a tumble. Cue the 'entanglement' jokes...

“Ok don’t get entangled,” wrote one commenter. And to his credit, Will took the joke in his stride. “Hahaha…Okay…I can admit it. That’s funny! I’m definitely gonna block you. But the joke was Very Funny!”

Will had previously taken to Instagram to joke about the "crushing" year he's endured thus far.

"ME... 2020," he captioned the post.
