Super Bowl LVII commemorated the first time ever that a pair of brothers faced each other in the big game.

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs became NFL champions for the second time in four years after fighting back to claim an exhilarating 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes starred in the comeback win by becoming the first player since 1999 to win the season MVP, the Super Bowl, and the Super Bowl MVP all in one season.

In another history-making moment, it was the first time that two brothers played against each other in the NFL’s championship game, with Travis Kelce’s Chiefs meeting Jason Kelce’s Eagles at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The siblings shared a heartfelt exchange on the field after the 33-year-old footballer's team secured the title. Speaking in a post-game interview, Travis got visibly emotional when asked about the chat.

"It was a weird feeling," he tearfully began saying. "There’s nothing you can really say to a loved one in a situation like that. You know, you joke around all the time and say you want to beat your brother on the biggest stage ever but it’s a weird feeling. It was weird."

"That team had great leadership, great coaches, and it came down to small moments in the end. We have all the respect in the world for those Eagles," he continued. "There’s nothing really I could say to him other than I love him and he played a hell of a season."

Jason - who shared a few words on the field with his brother after the game - was gracious in defeat. The 35-year-old also spoke to reporters after the game and said: "I'm just happy for him.

"Congratulations. It’s hard to get here. I hadn’t quite let the emotion get to me yet. I’m sure we’ll have a more emotional interaction. I’m still frustrated at that point, but really, really happy for Trav. Played his a** off," he added.

According to the Metro, the Eagles player was asked what he told his younger sibling when the game concluded and he said: "F*** you… But congratulations."

The 'Kelce Bowl' had conquered storylines in the buildup to Sunday's showdown and their mother, Donna, stole the show with her custom half-and-half Chiefs and Eagles outfits.

After the loss, the NFL posted a touching video of Jason getting emotional when he saw his mom on the field after the game and immediately embraced her.

Prior to the spectacle, Jason - who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2018 - said during the podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, that his aim was to be at the big game.

Travis then remarked that having both of them there is an even more important achievement and then said: "Now someone's gotta send their brother home."

His older brother then interjected: "Did we think it was going to be both of us? I don't know. I thought it could happen, but I never fully anticipated it happening until last week.

"I was like, 'Man, this could really happen. We could really have a New Heights Kelce Bowl, and we could actually be doing this,'" he added.

The monumental match became possible after Jason and the Eagles beat the San Francisco 49ers, and Travis and the Chiefs won against the Cincinnati Bengals - earning them both the Super Bowl match.
