Something tells us Aubrey Plaza forgot she was on live TV...
Fans have taken to social media to comment on why the actress looked so mad - and appeared to mouth an angry phrase - during the White Lotus acceptance speech at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards over the weekend.
Dozens of stars flocked to the event that honored the best achievements in film and television performances for 2022, at which veteran actress Sally Field (who most notably portrayed Miranda Hillard in Mrs. Doubtfire) won a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Among the other winners of the night was the cast of the mega-hit HBO series White Lotus, which won the SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series. Though, 38-year-old Plaza stole the show after appearing to mouth some interesting phrases while on stage with the rest of the show's actors.
The incident occurred while White Lotus actor F. Murray Abraham, 83, gave a speech on behalf of the cast, while Jon Gries - who plays the husband of Jennifer Coolidge's iconic character - grabbed Plaza by the arm and appeared to whisper something in her ear. Gries appeared to mention something about Plaza's dress, which was dangerously close to a wardrobe malfunction, causing her to adjust it before turning her attention back to Abraham.
Then, as Abraham said "a prayer out to the earthquake victims of Syria and Turkey and a prayer for peace in Ukraine and Russia," and shouted "union forever", Plaza appeared to also mouth "Jesus Christ".
As the speech ended and the cast began to walk off, Plaza was also seen saying "s**t's f**ked" before leaving the stage.
Many netizens took to social media to voice their opinions on the whole affair - which was as chaotic as White Lotus itself - with one person writing: "Ok soooo what is going on with Aubrey Plaza and the rest of the White Lotus cast? She looked like she haaaaated being up there and immediately ran off stage while everyone in the cast was congratulating and hugging each other."
Others obviously agreed, like this person who added: "[...] On another note, did anyone notice Aubrey Plaza? She seemed REALLY p**sed off… there was something real odd about her on stage with the White Lotus team. She even exited the stage quick and alone rather than staying with the cast."
Another user offered a possible explanation, commenting: "She had a dress malfunction, and kept getting shoved by the people around her. She was probably just embarrassed and uncomfortable."
"Something was up. She looked so p**sed," another person wrote.
Another added: "she left the stage RUNNIN the hell was that lol."
Other users pointed out that Plaza just seemed annoyed at the speech in general, with one Tweet reading: "Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. She also seemed annoyed by his speech."
Someone thought that Plaza might have been embarrassed that her dress may have been revealing more than she intended, writing: "Her boob was falling out and she was mortified when she was informed by a cast mate."
What do you think of the situation? Let us know in the comments!

Aubrey Plaza's co-star has revealed what really happened at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards over the weekend, after the actress was seen mouthing some rude phrases while on stage with the White Lotus cast.
The SAG Awards moment sparked chaos as fans leaped to their social media accounts to question what on earth was going on with 38-year-old Plaza.
The incident occurred when White Lotus actor F.
While some people theorized that Plaza was probably nervous or feeling awkward, others suggested she might have even been peeved she didn't get to speak on stage. Regardless, the incident was obvious enough to warrant public commentary.
Now, it seems, Gries, 65, has taken to Page Six to reveal what really happened on that stage, and it was all purely innocent. The actor - who played Tanya McQuoid's emotionally absent husband during the second season of White Lotus - told the outlet that he had simply told Plaza to "look to the front" as she was "being blocked by about 15 people."
He then added that he'd said: "You might wanna fix that," in reference to Plaza's 70s-inspired custom Michael Kors dress. The actor also revealed to Page Six that Plaza had mouthed "Jesus Christ" afterward because she was "just being funny."
"I think what she was intimating is why would that be a problem if my nipple is showing. That's her humor - she has that dry, dead-pan wit; that's her biting wit," he admitted.
Gries also took the chance to dismiss the fan theory that Plaza had become frustrated she wasn't able to give a speech on stage, saying that the whole cast wanted Abraham to speak on their behalf.
"We wanted him to speak; we all wanted him to. He's F. Murray Abraham! He's a frigging legend," he stated.

White Lotus fans will be aware of one scene that left people horrified, but a star of the show has come out in defense of it.
Written by Mike White - the brain behind School of Rock and Enlightened - the comedy-drama series focuses on guests staying at a luxurious resort called The White Lotus.
Season one was set in Hawaii over the course of one week, and starred a variety of famous faces - including Connie Britton, Sydney Sweeney, and fan favorite Jennifer Coolidge.
Season two - also set in the fictional resort - takes place in Sicily, starring Coolidge plus an all-new cast that includes Theo James, Meghann Fahy, Aubrey Plaza, and Tom Hollander.
Well, Season three has now left people feeling pretty uncomfortable.
From the very first episode of season three, fans were raising eyebrows over the strange tension between the two brothers, Lochlan (played by Sam Nivola) and Saxon (played by Patrick Schwarzenegger).
Lochlan was caught eyeing his older brother’s naked body, and the internet immediately began spiraling into wild theories.
Turns out, they were on to something.
In last week's episode, things took a turn when Lochlan and Saxon shared a kiss — pushed on by characters Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood).
The moment reportedly almost made actor Patrick "throw up." But it was this week’s episode that truly shattered the boundaries of TV taboo.
As Lochlan hooked up with Chloe, the camera revealed that he was simultaneously pleasuring Saxon.
What followed was flashbacks, gut-wrenching silence, and some serious regret from both brothers.
Unsurprisingly, fans were shocked.
One viewer posted on X: "OMG I have been saying this family was psychosexually obsessed with each other for weeks! It's so weird the brothers did that OMG disgusting."
A second said: "Everyone involved with this show is just going straight to hell because what the f***."
But 21-year-old Sam Nivola isn’t backing down from the scene or the role — in fact, he’s defending both.
"At the end of the day, Lochlan is not a creep, necessarily," Sam told Variety. "Of course, I have to say that. You have to love your character. So, f*** it, I'll defend him!
"I think he's incredibly misguided, and his circumstances have put him in a bad spot, but I don't think he's evil or malicious in any way. It's important to the story that he's not some psychopath."
While many fans have speculated that Lochlan may be grappling with his sexuality, Nivola says there’s something else going on entirely.
"The thing on the boat is Lochlan's tragically misguided attempt at being like, 'So you're the sex guy. Let's do something in that realm and try to connect in some way,'" he said. "It's obviously a big swing and a miss."

Aubrey Plaza has opened up about an incident where, according to her, a movie director asked her to perform a sexual act for real as opposed to simulating it.
Movies can sometimes call for actors to portray intimate, private moments on screen and it is becoming more of a norm to have intimacy directors on set that'll ensure everything is handled appropriately and respectfully.
In 2013, Plaza - now 41 - was shooting a movie called The To Do List, where the Parks and Recreation actress played Brandy, who aced every subject in school except for sexual education, so she makes a list that'll give her more knowledge and experience.
An unearthed clip of Plaza talking about the movie with Conan O'Brien in 2013 has reemerged following her performance in The White Lotus, and she made some pretty shocking claims.

So when the 41-year-old arrived on set she was fairly shocked when the director of the movie, Maggie Carey, asked her to perform the act for real.
During the scene, Plaza was to lie on her back in bed and simulate the act of masturbating, though it seems that the actress and the director had different ideas as to how the scene would play out.
"In my head, I envisioned a nice scene where you see my hand slowly go out of frame," Plaza told Conan who made light of the experience.
Plaza continued: "That's what I thought I was going into, but then when I showed up, the camera was mounted on the ceiling, I was in my underwear and a Clinton T-Shirt, and there were a bunch of old men smoking, ya know, the crew guys."
She clarified that the men weren't actually smoking but in her memory of the bizarre day on set, that is how she remembers it.
The actress then rather candidly explained that with the camera mounted above her and a room full of men watching: "Then I went and touched myself."
She had reached out to Carey before the cameras started rolling to get clarification of what was expected of her from the scene.
"I asked the director, 'What should I do?' And she said, 'Masturbate, like it says in the script'," Plaza explained as the audience laughed at the retelling of the story.

Plaza spoke to Oregon Live in 2013 where she further explained: "Looking back on it, I feel like the masturbating scene was a little bit the most nerve-racking. Just because in my head I thought, oh, we'll probably shoot this in a way where I don't really have to really do it."
We're glad that Plaza can see the light side of things, as it sounds like it could have been a pretty shocking experience for others!

Aimee Lou Wood has been spotted crying in public following SNL's parody of her, which the actress publicly slammed on social media.
The 31-year-old actress, who recently starred as Chelsea in Season 3 of the HBO hit, took to Instagram to call out the sketch, which spoofed The White Lotus as "The White Potus".
While the bulk of the parody featured SNL cast members portraying political figures like POTUS Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson), Melania Trump (Chloe Fineman), and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Jon Hamm), it was Sarah Sherman’s portrayal of Wood that struck a nerve with both viewers and Wood alike.
Sherman exaggerated Wood’s striking wide eyes and front teeth using prosthetics and layered on a cartoonish Manchester accent, delivering lines about fluoride that focused almost entirely on Wood’s appearance.
The moment quickly became the subject of ridicule online - and hit far too close to home for the actress herself.
“I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,” Wood wrote in a now-viral Instagram Story. “Yes, take the p**s for sure – that’s what the show is about – but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”
She added: “I don’t mind caricature — I understand that’s what SNL is — but the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on. At least get the accent right, seriously. I respect accuracy, even if it’s mean.”
Later that same day, Wood was spotted crying on a South London high street. Paparazzi captured the visibly emotional actress being comforted by Ralph Davis, co-writer of her upcoming BBC miniseries Film Club, per News.com.au.
The following day, Wood took to her Instagram Stories to respond to the viral photos of her in tears. She posted a fan message that said she’d been “reduced to tears because of people tearing into their appearance,” calling her “beautiful” and “an incredibly talented actor,” while slamming SNL for being “cruel.”
Alongside the message, Wood clarified the situation, writing: “Thank you so much. Just to say, I actually wasn’t crying about anything that the papers made out I was crying about [...] Something completely unrelated.”
Despite the harsh sketch, Wood says she received a private apology from SNL — and she’s also received waves of support from fans and celebs alike.
Georgia May Jagger called the parody “low” and “misjudged,” while Cara Delevingne and Jameela Jamil also came to Wood’s defense.
However, not everyone in Wood’s circle had her back.
Her White Lotus co-star Walton Goggins, who played her love interest on the show, shared the SNL clip and praised it as “smashing.”
The move raised eyebrows among fans already suspicious about a rumored rift between the two — particularly after both stars unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted prior posts featuring one another.
The actress has previously spoken about the intense and sometimes frustrating focus on her teeth, telling GQ: “It makes me really happy that it’s symbolizing rebellion and freedom, but there’s a limit.”
“The whole conversation is just about my teeth, and it makes me a bit sad because I’m not getting to talk about my work,” she added. “They think it’s nice because they’re not criticizing. And, I have to go there… I don’t know if it was a man would we be talking about it this much?”
In a separate interview with The Sunday Times, Wood echoed the sentiment.
“It’s, like, cool, and now I want to stop f**king talking about it. Can I talk about my character? Why am I talking about my gnashers?” she said. “It’s like now I’m just a pair of front teeth.”
Wood has been open about the role her teeth played in shaping her confidence from a young age.
“A big thing for me growing up was my mouth, because it was the thing that everyone pointed out, and it was the thing that made me different,” she previously wrote to fans on Instagram.
But through her work, she’s gained a sense of empowerment: “Playing loads of different characters has really helped with my self-confidence surrounding beauty. I’ve had to surrender control a lot. The more that you can surrender, the more beautiful you feel.”

A Saturday Night Live star has spoken out after Aimee Lou Wood was upset when the show parodied her.
On the April 12 episode of SNL, cast member Sarah Sherman portrayed a version of Chelsea, the character Wood played in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus.
The sketch, titled 'The White Potus,' mashed up The White Lotus with U.S. politics, featuring James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, Chloe Fineman as Melania Trump, Mikey Day as Donald Trump Jr., and Jon Hamm as a Walton Goggins-style Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Hamm’s RFK Jr., dressed like Chelsea’s on-screen boyfriend Rick, delivered a wild line: “I’ve been having these insane ideas, like what if we took all the fluoride out of the drinking water? What would that do to people’s teeth?”
Cue Sherman’s Chelsea - sporting exaggerated prosthetic teeth - chiming in with: “Fluoride? What’s that?”
That was the moment Wood hit her limit.
Taking to social media, Wood wrote: “Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple of weeks ago. Yes, take the p**s for sure – that’s what the show is about – but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”
She continued: “I don’t mind caricature – I understand that’s what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up, and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on.”
While she clarified she wasn’t “thin-skinned” and typically enjoys jokes “when they’re clever and in good spirits,” this one crossed a line.
“The joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth,” she wrote, adding: “It’s not [Sherman’s] fault… not hating on her. Just hating on the concept.”
Wood revealed she received a rare apology from SNL, but not before things got more confusing. She shared what appeared to be an apology from Sherman, posted by a spoof account (@sarahsquirm_5), not Sherman’s real handle (@sarahsquirm).
The fake message said: “The use of prosthetic teeth and the exaggerated accent weren’t meant as personal attacks, but I get why it felt that way.”
Wood posted it, only to later realize the account was fake - and swiftly deleted it.
Despite the chaos, the story took a softer turn. On Tuesday, Sherman sent Wood a bouquet of flowers as a peace offering.
Wood posted a photo of the colorful arrangement on her Instagram Stories with the caption: “Thank you for the beautiful flowers,” tagging Sherman’s real account.
Bowen Yang, another SNL cast member, backed Wood’s reaction in an interview with Extra.
“With parody, you kind of forget the sort of human, emotional cost that it sort of extols on someone,” Yang said. “Everyone at SNL is just a fan of the show, obviously a fan of her… it’s this thing that we tend to forget sometimes, and this is a reminder.”
He continued: “Parody can go too far sometimes… We, as comedians, can take account for that instead of banging our foot and saying that we should be able to say whatever we want. That’s just culture, it’s not PC or woke culture, it’s just culture.”
Not long after the sketch aired, photos surfaced showing Wood crying on the streets of South London, reportedly upset over the parody. But she quickly cleared that up.
“Just to say, I actually wasn’t crying about anything that the papers made out I was crying about [...] Something completely unrelated,” she wrote, responding to a fan’s message of support.
Wood was seen being comforted by House of the Dragon actor Ralph Davis during the moment.
