Internet icon Julia Fox has hit out at trolls who roasted her TikTok apartment tour.
The 33-year-old previously took to the video-sharing app last week to give her 1.7 million followers a tour of the New York City apartment she shares with her young son Valentino. "Come with me on a very underwhelming apartment tour!" she captioned the clip.
With 10.5 million views and 1.2 million likes, the three-minute video proves that, while she is a well-known celebrity and cultural icon, Fox is really just like everyone else.
And she is. Really. In fact, she has a bed in the living room, shoe boxes piled high in her kitchen, and even has a mice problem (though, she clarified in the caption that it's only ONE mouse).
"'I never thought in a million years I would do this, but I believe in maximum transparency, and so I'm gonna give you guys an apartment tour. I know I'm going to get roasted [...] Hopefully, maybe someone can watch this and say, Okay, maybe I'm not doing so bad," the Uncut Gems actress says in the video.
Panning the camera to the mountain of shoeboxes in her kitchen, she adds: "I also have shoe boxes in the kitchen, which is very common for New Yorkers [...] Don't judge me…I know it's really messy.
"For me personally I don't like excessive displays of wealth, they make me feel icky. Especially people who have really big houses. It's just really wasteful when there’s so many homeless people in this country and I’m not really like that," Fox explains in the video.
Unsurprisingly, some trolls took to the comments section to roast Fox's apartment. In true Fox fashion, she took the time to post a reply video going into more detail about her apartment and lifestyle.
"I really wasn't expecting my apartment tour to go so viral, people are really freaking out over it. It's really just not that deep. This just happens to be the apartment that I took my son home from the hospital. So it's his home," she says.
"It really is Valentino's apartment. It's like a sentimental thing [...] it's about having that sense of normalcy," Fox added.
She then addresses claims from TikTok users that she's worth $30 million, saying: "I'm not worth 30 million dollars, not even close. I don't need 30 million dollars; what does one person need 30 million dollars for? I've survived on a lot less and I'm doing just fine."
Fans of the star raced to the comments section to praise Fox, with one person writing: "Julia fox is more relatable than the average Instagram influencer or TikToker lol."
"SHES SO REAL, LOVE HER," someone else added.
What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

Julia Fox is known for her unorthodox style.
But it turns out the Uncut Gems star takes a similarly alternative approach to other areas of her life too.
On Monday (August 22), the 32-year-old took to TikTok to share some rather controversial tips on child care.
Fox - who shares her 19-month-old son Valentino with ex-husband Peter Artemiev - claimed that her little boy "doesn't care" for toys, and that parents would be better of giving their children cleaning products instead.
In the video - which has racked up over 2.6 million views - Fox began by explaining that she believes: "The idea of childhood was invented as a way to get parents to spend a lot of money on s*** that’s not really teaching your kid anything."
"He is actually more interested in what I’m doing," she continued, adding: "So I suggest that everyone buy their kid a mini-mop and mini-broom and start teaching them those life skills really young, so when they enter the real world they don’t have to outsource for everything and they know how to do things for themselves."
"I think that’s really important," the actor concluded.
Fox's suggestion was met with outrage, with many people taking to social media to point out the flaws in her argument.
"Tell me you don’t understand how child development works without telling me you don’t understand how child development works," one person wrote.
Another tweeted: "Will someone please tell julia fox that toys are good for kids brains and forcing them to clean all the time will produce a sociopath?"
A third jokingly posted a meme of actress AnnaLynne McCord saying "If only I'd been your mother" with the caption: "Julia Fox when she finds out I hate working."
It didn't take long for Fox to clap back at her haters. In an Instagram story, she claimed people had overreacted to her advice, writing: "Are you kidding me? I say children should learn skills so they can take care of themselves and now I support child labor?"
She followed this up with a snap of her son playing outdoors, and a sarcastic caption: "Now here's a cute pic of my son at the labor camp he works at."

Julia Fox recently revealed that she spent her 27th birthday crying in bed because she felt "old."
Posting to TikTok, the Uncut Gems star explained how, because she was no longer in her mid-20s, she felt as though the occasion was nothing to celebrate.
"My B-F-F, Harmony, God rest her soul, came and flew in to see me because she knew I'd be taking it really hard," she told her 1.2 million TikTok followers.
Watch the full video below:
"My friends tried to come in my room with candles and cupcakes and s*** and I literally was like, 'Get the f*** out! I told you we're not celebrating! There's nothing to celebrate!' And I was, like, such a tyrant about it because I wanted the day to pass and just have it be..."
She then went on to explain the reason behind her mindset, stating that the entertainment industry was not forgiving to women in their 30s.
"This is how deep this s*** is for women... In the entertainment industry. Thirty is f***ing considered old," she continued, before reminding her followers not to conform to society's standards for women because "aging is fully in."
The now 32-year-old star told women to "wear what they want" and not regret any of their decisions. Her passion for changing the narrative around maturing was reaffirmed when she went on to tell her followers that she was going to "sue" companies that claim their skincare products are "anti-aging."
"...If I see another product that says 'anti-aging' on the label, I'm suing," Fox added. "I'm going to sue because I'm going to age regardless of if I put that f***ing $500 serum on my face, and you all f***ing know it!
"And we know it so let's stop lying to ourselves. Getting old is f***ing hot, okay? It is sexy. It is probably the sexiest time in life, actually, because being pretty and hot in your 20s is the f***ing trenches, okay? And I'm not going back there," she added.
Julia Fox is known for her somewhat eccentric personality, but recently she's been keeping it real by opening up about the life experiences that have come to define her today.
During a recent episode of Emily Ratajkowski's podcast, High Low with EmRata, the 32-year-old described sex with men as "transactional" due to her previous career as a dominatrix.
"Sex for me always has been one-sided, but I think all women can say that. So it’s like if I don’t really need anything from you, I don’t see the point," Fox told the host. "I’m really desensitized to sex, too. Like, it just - it’s not thrilling for me."
Fox was only 18 years old when she began her career in the adult industry.
"I pretty much, in my teens, learned that I was a commodity and that I can get money or resources from men, so then it just became this game of, okay, how do I become more desirable so I could get more money and I could be like that b***h," she said on the podcast.
"It's still them giving me the power. It's not my own power, you know? So it's a humiliating kind of position to be in, or humbling, rather."

A tour of Paris Hilton's home has left fans 'disgusted' after the footage, which was filmed in 2020, resurfaced recently.
Paris, 42, is no stranger to letting the cameras into every element of her life, but fans had a shock when they re-watched a home tour she filmed in 2020 while undergoing renovation on her property.
The 17-minute video was shared by the socialite and businesswoman on her YouTube channel, showcasing the before and after of a renovation that took 16 months to complete.
And while the results speak for themselves, there was one thing that left viewers pretty horrified.
Watch the entire video here:In the footage, Paris showed off how she'd transformed her home by making it "all brand new", however, her followers were divided over the extent of her "hoarding" and the amount of money she'd seemingly spent on the refit.
They were shown her kitchen cupboards and pantry packed full of things. as well as her garage being packed with clothing, bags, and crafting supplies.
She also showcased her impressive shoe collection a she revealed her newly rebuilt closet with 100 pairs of shoes on display, adding that while she wasn't planning to add more, "I have, like, literally 20 giant boxes full of shoes at my storage unit."
Paris also appeared to be pretty detached from the massive works that were being done on her property, adding that she hoped the workmen "build another" door after one had been ripped out that she wasn't aware of, and her apparent surprise at seeing that her kitchen had been gutted, saying: "This was not part of the plan. They were only supposed to do, like, a few rooms. So far, everything is gone."
The video was shared on Reddit's Anticonsumption thread, where fans expressed their thoughts on how many belongings Paris had kept, as well as her nonchalant attitude to her whole home renovation.
One wrote: "So she's a hoarder, but because she can afford the space it's not an illness?", while another responded: "Definitely looks like a hoarder and I hate how they portray it like 'wow so glamorous'. and you’re right bc she can afford it, it’s not an illness but people are going to want the lifestyle."
Someone else added: "i cant even fathom what 1 person needs that much space or stuff for...", while another wrote: "This is greed, folks. And it's disgusting."
One commented: "So she ditched the awful Saudi meets Trump aesthetic, but still lives excessively beyond anything anyone actually NEEDS. Wonder how many of those workers were just disgusted by the whole thing by the time it was done? For what that cost, she could have paid off 1000 peoples student loans, and STILL been able to renovate. Also why does so much of this look so cheaply done?"
Despite the renovation, some still weren't impressed by how much stuff she kept, adding: "This video makes me want to minimize and simplify my home even more. Even after organizing seemed overwhelming."
Others stood up for Paris, adding: "Let her have fun ! Leave your judgemental jealous voices for the shower!", and: "lol yall gen z woke and disgusting. Mad cause you can’t afford that?"
As well as being an heiress and great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, who founded Hilton Hotels, Paris also has several successful clothing and perfume lines under her belt, and also works as a DJ.
She also recently became a mother for the second time after welcoming a daughter via surrogate with her husband Carter Reum.
Model Gigi Hadid has taken to Instagram to give her fans a detailed look at her lockdown project: decorating her luxury New York City apartment.
However, the 25-year-old's unusual design choices did not sit well with the people of Twitter. Some highlights included a bowl of billiard balls on the kitchen counter, a wall of blu-tacked magazine covers in the bathroom, and cabinets apparently filled with dyed dry pasta.
Internet users went so far as to brand her interior efforts "ugly".

"Spent all of last year designing and curating my passion project / dream spot," she captioned the Instagram post, which included a slew of snaps of her home.
"Of course it all came together right before quarantining out of the city.... but I’m excited for the time I’ll get to spend enjoying all the special corners that were made with a lil help from some of my favorite creatives (tap!) who embraced my ideas and didn’t call me crazy. ++ my mamma:) who is the greatest homemaking-sounding-board I could ask for (she called me crazy when required) ☺️ grateful to and for all [sic]."
"Every picture gigi hadid posts of her home design is more horrifying than the last and just reinforces that being rich ≠ having good taste [sic]," commented one user on Hadid's interior decorating skills, while another added, "Gigi Hadid’s atrocious interior design skills are proof that hot people should just stick to being hot."
"Shaken to my core by gigi hadid’s abysmal interior design taste [sic]," wrote a third.

Hadid is currently expecting her first child with former One Direction singer, Zayn Malik.
A social media influencer has provoked controversy after showing off her $2 million apartment in a new video.
According to the Independent, Nicole Sanchez, aka Neekolul, has been accused of hypocrisy online after posting a video flaunting her new property in a YouTube video uploaded on Tuesday, June 1.
Sanchez, who boasts over a million followers on various social media platforms, went viral last year after uploading a clip of herself to TikTok sporting a Bernie Sanders t-shirt while dancing to a song with the lyrics: "Whatever you say, Boomer. OK, Boomer."
Watch Sanchez's tour of her luxurious apartment in the video below:She also previously endorsed a T-shirt for New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s "tax the rich" policy.
Despite her left-wing leanings, the vlogger didn't seem shy about inviting her fans on a tour of her luxurious new home in her latest ten-minute-long video.
The clip has already racked up over 100,000 views, with a ratio of 14,000 dislikes to 2,000 likes, and it's safe to say fans were less than impressed with what Sanchez had to say.
One person wrote: "lmao I wonder how many homeless people she can see from her $2,000,000 apartment. [sic]"
Another added: "Good to see the socialist mascot living an equal standard of living as her fans."
A third chimed in: "Everyone wants to eat the rich until they are rich."
A fourth then added: "She went from 'eat the rich' to 'let them eat cake' very quickly lol. [sic]"
While another wrote: "She is an excellent example of someone with ZERO self-awareness. [sic]"
Finally, another follower penned: "I appreciate the fact that you’re doing well for yourself, and that’s great and all, but throwing this extravagance in people’s faces like this to profit even more off of instead of actually HELPING them is disgusting.
"You really should be ashamed of yourself and the content like this that you put out. It really says how much you care about your supporters who put you where you are now. [sic]"
However, on Twitter, some users have defended the content creator.
One person wrote: "A whole lot of people in here who really, really don’t understand what the word 'socialism' means. Like at all. Completely clueless. It’s not devotion to being poor, idiots."
Meanwhile, another added: "Why are people assuming she doesn’t pay taxes. Y’all simp until you see someone doing well. Good for you girl, keep doing your thing. [sic]"
Finally, someone else wrote: "People saying 'tax the rich' in reply to this tweet have no fundamental understanding on what they are saying.
"She is wealthy and yet still expects herself and the rich to be taxed higher, if they aren’t, then she is allowed to spend her money in any which way she pleases."
In a previous video, Sanchez opened up about her net worth, claiming that she should still be allowed to hold the same political views.
Per Independent, Sanchez stated: "All I’m doing is standing by the beliefs that I started off with.
"Whether I’m making this money or not, I just feel like it’s not something to be rude about. Because there’s nothing to be rude about."
