Miley Cyrus has been applauded for her quick change after suffering a wardrobe malfunction during a performance in Miami.
On December 31, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter hosted NBC's 'Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,' with Pete Davidson to close out 2022.
However, amid her performance of the hit song 'Party in the USA,' Cyrus' silver top appeared to break and started to fall from her torso.
At first, she attempted to continue singing the hit in front of the crowd while clutching the top to her chest - but then decided that stronger measures needed to be taken.
Watch Cyrus' performance below:The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker turned her back to the audience and walked off stage, only to return moments later wearing an oversized red blazer.
Resuming her singing duties, she ad-libbed the lyrics: "Everybody’s definitely looking at me now," and in between verses, she told the crowd: "I'm still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage."
Viewers took to their social media to praise Cyrus for how she dealt with the issue - which I'm sure would have been terrifying for the rest of us.
One person wrote: "May we all go into 2022 with the same poise, quick-wit, & 'eh, shit happens' attitude as Miley Cyrus after that wardrobe malfunction."
"That ABSOLUTE CHAMP caught her top, sashayed offstage, came back on asap to finish her set—AND *owned* it all with a couple of jokes. What a pro!" they added.
Another user said: "Not usually one for NYE shows, but I have to give props to Miley Cyrus. Beats the hell out of Ryan Seacrest. Miley is a natural performer, and her backing band is ace. Oh, and she played off the wardrobe malfunction like a pro."
A third person commented: "@MileyCyrus's TOP!!! She’s such a pro."
The Disney Channel alum recalled the incident during a video for British Vogue, saying: "This outfit did not stay on very long because the chain in the back broke. But what is a live TV performance with everything going right?"
"Live TV is a tightrope walk. They want to see you dangle, but they don’t want to see you fall," Cyrus explained. "We had promoted the show as 'It’s Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson, they’re so wild, you never know what’s going to happen."
After quipping that she was "pretty classy" compared to her co-host and that ratings were "skyrocketing," the Hannah Montana actress made one final joke about the incident.
"Show your b***s and you get renewed," she joked, "Dolly taught me that."
