Selena Gomez has recently announced that she will be taking a break from social media amid all the drama surrounding her ex-boyfriend's wife, Hailey Bieber.

Taking to TikTok Live on Thursday, the 30-year-old former Disney Channel star told fans that she will be stepping back from all forms of social media.

"I’m going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. I’m 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later," she said.

"I’m just gonna take a break from everything," she added.

Check out what she had to say:

The news comes following the re-sparking of her feud with Bieber, who fans believe has it out for the actress despite them supposedly squashing their beef at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures' 2nd annual gala back in October.

Over the past few weeks, Bieber has allegedly been throwing shade at Gomez, and even enlisting the help of the Jenner sisters to do so.

In one instance, after photos of the Only Murders in the Building actress went viral because people were commenting on her weight fluctuations, Bieber, as well as models, Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye, posted a now-deleted TikTok of them miming a sound that stated: "I’m not saying she deserves it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right."

While users speculated the clip was directed toward Gomez, the 26-year-old Rhode Skin owner explained that it wasn't made for anyone in particular.

"I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girls night and did a random tiktok sound for fun," she wrote at the time. "It's not directed at anyone."

But it was a pretty awkward coincidence, right? Well, that's what fans are thinking anyway.

However, things only got worse when Gomez recently overthrew Kylie Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram.

In the wake of the social media battle, it seems as though the two stars were also involved in an awkward misunderstanding online - which they both addressed.

Gomez posted shots of her eyebrows stating that "she laminated her brows too much", and within "three hours", Jenner took to her Instagram Stories to post close-up shots of her own eyebrows before following it up with Bieber's brows too.

Fans slammed the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star for her "jealous" and "petty" behavior.

Jenner later took to TikTok to comment under a video about the alleged "shade" to slam people for "reaching."

"This is a reach," Jenner wrote before adding: "No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."

Being a good sport, Gomez also chimed in telling fans that she was a "fan of Kylie!"

Most recently, Gomez was forced to intervene on behalf of her "best friend" Taylor Swift after a video of Bieber seemingly throwing shade at the 'All Too Well' singer resurfaced.

Gomez commented under the TikTok video where Bieber was described as a "mean girl" writing: "So sorry, my best friend [Swift] is and continues to be one of the best in the game."

Speaking to Rolling Stone last year, Gomez emphasized that the 'Bad Blood' singer was her "only friend in the industry" before adding: "I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities."

She continued: "I remember feeling like I didn’t belong. I felt the presence of everyone around me living full lives. I had this position, and I was really happy, but... was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy?

"I just didn’t like who I was, because I didn’t know who I was."

Maybe this social media break is needed. We hope Gomez comes back stronger than ever and shows everyone just why she is - and always will be - that girl.
