In the wake of all the drama surrounding Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, and Kylie Jenner, it seems as though social media users have well and truly made their minds up about whose side they're on.
Over the past week, the internet has been hooked on the scandal surrounding long-term rivals, Gomez, 30, and Bieber, 26.
In the past, we've seen the two stars go head-to-head in a passive-aggressive stage drama led by Bieber who fans believe has had it out for Gomez ever since she got together with Gomez's ex-boyfriend, singer-songwriter Justin Bieber.
Years later and the stars apparently haven't yet settled their differences. In fact, the tension has been cranked up a notch as Bieber has seemingly enlisted the help of her best friends, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, in order to double down on her digs against the Rare Beauty owner - though they denied any shade was intentional.
The pair had appeared to post a shady snap of their eyebrows after Gomez posted that she had laminated her own "too much" but claimed that the post was merely a coincidence rather than a deliberate dig.
Given the circumstances, Gomez has decided to take a break from social media, telling fans in a TikTok Live that she was "too old" for this type of drama.
"I’m going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. I’m 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later," she said.
"I’m just gonna take a break from everything," she added.
Gomez fans, better known by their collective name, the 'Selenators', have been defending their idol online and in doing so, have gained the support of a wider audience who seem to believe that both Bieber and Jenner are just "jealous" of her success.
And if recent events are anything to go by, they might actually be onto something.
Many are asking if it's a coincidence that on the day that Gomez dethroned 24-year-old Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram, the two friends were seen allegedly "throwing shade" at her?
Who knows?
Either way, what we do know is that since the drama unfolded, Gomez has gained 10 million followers on Instagram, giving her a massive lead against Jenner, who has now lost 700,000+ in that same period as per statistics provided by Social Blade.
Not to mention Bieber's grand losses too.
According to the tool, the Creative Director of Rhode skincare has been losing followers at a much greater rate than Jenner, her 50.2 million followers have now shrunk to 49.8 million.
Big yikes.
Let this be a stern warning for those who have any intentions of coming for Gomez - just don't.
