A Canadian diver has inadvertently scored a rare 0.0 from judges after seriously bungling a maneuver at the Olympics.

According to The Sun, 28-year-old Pamela Ware ended up with the unfortunate score at her Olympic debut on the 3m springboard final on Monday, August 2.

As you can see in the video below,m Ware took a fatal misstep on her approach for a 3.5 difficulty dive. As a result of this, she was forced to abandon her planned attempt the second she jumped.

The Independent reports that Ware later took to her official Instagram account in the aftermath of the incident to share a video with her 16,000 followers on the platform.

Per the above publication, she stated: "What we do in the competition is just a tiny factor of what we actually do to get to where we are.

"I was so ready for this competition, and I made a mistake. It could have happened to anybody, but it happened to me at the wrong time."

Meanwhile, in a later interview with CBC, Ware stated that she was sure that, after taking her misstep, she had been sure that she would have hurt herself had she attempted to pull off the dive in midair, stating:

"Honestly, I think I’m still in shock right now. I’m kind of emotionless, which is really weird for me because I usually act on my emotions really quickly.

"But I think that if I would have done the dive, I could have possibly hurt myself."

This comes not long after 24-year-old gold medalist Simone Biles withdrew from the women's team all-around gymnastics final, and pulled out of the individual all-around final, citing concerns about her mental health.

Biles has since taken to social media to comment on her exit from the events, and to thank her supporters for backing her difficult personal decision.

She tweeted: "The outpouring love & support I’ve received has made me realize I’m more than my accomplishments and gymnastics which I never truly believed before."

Indeed, a number of people, including former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Biles' boyfriend, Jonathan Owens, have praised her decision to temporarily step away from athletics.

Fortunately, Biles will reportedly compete in the balance beam final.
