Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump 'agree to strict rule for their relationship' following Donald Trump approval
Tiger Woods, the 15‑time major winner, and Vanessa Trump have introduced a strict rule that governs their relationship since confirming they were together earlier this year. The legendary American golfer and the ex‑wife of Donald Trump Jr. announced their relationship in March when Woods shared photos of the couple on social media.
According to the Daily Mail, they both live in Palm Beach, Florida, and enjoy spending time together in homes just 20 minutes apart. The couple, however, have agreed to limit public displays of affection even while enjoying relaxed nights together watching films, eating takeaways and spending time with their children.
Why they’re playing it cool in public
A source told the paper: “Tiger has always been publicly apolitical. He has his beliefs and opinions, of course, but he doesn’t make a public spectacle of his political leanings. And dating someone in a political family looks like he’s choosing a side.” This reportedly prompted some of Woods’ close friends to initially warn him about dating Trump because of her political connections.
Family dynamics and their comfortable nights in
Both Woods and Trump have children from previous relationships. Woods has two children with his ex‑wife Elin Nordegren, to whom he was married from 2004 to 2010. Their daughter, Sam Alexis Woods, caddied for her father last year at the PNC Championship for the second consecutive year. Woods’ 16‑year‑old son Charlie is emerging as one of the top junior golfers in America.
Meanwhile, Trump was married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 until 2018, during which time they had two daughters and three sons. According to the Daily Mail, both of their families have been supportive of the new relationship. A source said: “The kids understood and were happy, and still are happy. It was more people thinking about his professional brand who worried about what would happen when the news came out.”
Despite the support, the couple remain committed to avoiding public displays of affection.
“Movie nights, binge‑watching shows, eating takeout ‑ that makes them happy. They’re honestly just like everyone else in their dating life. When they do go out in public, like they have for two different golf tournaments, they lay off the PDA. Tiger has done a lot of crazy things with people, flown around the world. So has Vanessa. It can be a lot. Now it’s nice to have someone who wants to stay home and chill. It’s a nice change for him.”
