Head lice experts have shared a rather unsavory video of a particularly bad case - an infestation that had been left for five years in a young girl's hair.
The video, shared by The Lice Angels, shows a member of the team treating the girl's hair in order to rid her of her years-long head lice.
The person treating the girl's hair can be heard saying in the video: "These eggs are really impacted. I already applied the treatment. So now I'm going to get a comb. I'm going to add a little bit more to her hair.
"But I want you guys to see how easy it's going to come out of her hair. Put a little bit more in her hair. The eggs are very impacted in her hair so I want you guys to see how good it's going to come out."
Check out this extreme head lice infestation:After combing the girl's hair, the expert then reveals the lice that has come out with the comb - it's an astonishing amount.
"It comes out very easy," she reiterates.
Needless to say, people were impressed by the near-miraculous treatment, but also shocked as to how it could be left to fester for so long in the first place.
One wrote: "you guys are doing GODs work Sis!! you are so sweet to her as well!"
Another said: "Makes my hair itch watching this. This horrible and must have felt horrible."
A third commented: "This is awful. So sad and should never happen."
Another agreed: "Poor thing, that must be so uncomfortable."
