Woman whose breasts ‘never stop growing’ explains why she refuses surgery
The woman believed to have the biggest breasts in the UK has now revealed that she does not plan to go under the knife, despite three previous attempts to get the surgery funded by the NHS.
Summer Robert's breasts have been growing at a rapid rate since she was eight years old, and now, at 28, and just 4’11, she is wearing R-cup bras.
Her chest grew by 11 cup sizes last year and now weighs a colossal 25kg, due to a condition called Macromastia, which causes breast tissue to never stop growing.
Why is having such a large chest a problem?
The condition can cause serious health problems, such as back pain and limited mobility, making everyday tasks, such as cleaning the house or walking, extremely difficult.
Alongside the chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain that Summer has endured for many years, Macromastia can also lead to infections or lesions under your breasts, painful indentations on the skin from your bra, and loss of feeling in your nipples, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Currently, the only treatment offered to sufferers is a major breast reduction; it is only a temporary fix as the tissue will regrow even after the surgery.
Allegedly, she did not qualify to get the surgery on the UK’s free healthcare system three times, when she was 16, 17, and 22, as her Body Mass Index (BMI) was too high.
Finally, after finding a, thankfully non-cancerous, lump aged 25, doctors recommended she get a breast reduction, but after starting a successful OnlyFans account and realising the fix would only be temporary anyway, Robert decided she did not want the surgery.
Why does Robert no longer want a breast reduction?
Robert decided that, because “they'd just grow back in a year or so” and the lack of research done into macromastia, she did not see the point in having surgery.
In a recent interview with UNILAD, she said: "There is nothing much known in the UK. When I got diagnosed, I got handed a Wikipedia page and sent on my way.
"I recently went to see a specialist in Los Angeles to find out more because of the lack of information in the UK. He told me if I was to get a reduction they would just come back.
"I considered a reduction my whole life up until I started OnlyFans, it was only after then that I began to love my body and realized that my differences make me beautiful. I wouldn’t get one now."
The young Scot launched her OnlyFans account during the 2020 lockdown and says she is now “really happy” that she never had a reduction, as she has had huge success on the site and makes a lot of money.
Summer said, "My whole life, people have told me that my body’s weird because my boobs are so big," she said. "No one’s ever been nice about it.
"Then, when I made OnlyFans, everyone celebrated the fact that I have a different body. I realised that my body is actually beautiful instead of weird, like everyone else said. It changed everything."
