One of the most exciting moments in any parent's life is hearing their child say their very first word.

However, no parent out there would expect their baby to hit that particular milestone before they were even six months old.

Nevertheless, this is exactly what happened to mom Lyndsey Keenan, 28, from Eastbourne, England, whose son Roman said his first word at the age of just five-months-old back on December 20.

And not only this, there is remarkable footage to prove it!

Listen to Roman say "hello" in the adorable video below:

In the remarkable footage, Lyndsey can be heard talking to her son, and moments later, he says the word "hello" as clear as day.

"Who are you talking to? Who are you talking to?!" Lyndsey says to her son, seconds before he speaks.

As per WebMD, the age at which a baby speaks for the first time varies a lot, but most children typically say their first recognizable words when they are around 12 months old.

However, it's clear that baby Roman - who was born six weeks premature in July and has an older brother Lex, 10 - has hit this milestone a lot faster than most.

In fact, Lyndsey went as far as to say that she thought her baby might be a "little bit behind" because of his prematurity, but it's clear that he's more than on-track.

"Roman had made little noises before that, but never a full word," said Lyndsey. "We hadn't been expecting him to talk yet anyway, especially as he was born six weeks early so I thought he might take longer."

"He was just babbling away like normal when he came out with that. It was so strange, because he says it so clearly.

"I couldn't believe I managed to catch it on video too. I immediately rang my friend to tell her what had happened.

"He's an intelligent little boy at just five months - when he says 'hello', it feels like he really means it!"

However, he also has some stiff competition, as six-week-old Charlie-John Taylor-Mullington left his parents in awe when he said "hello" to dad Nick, as the doting father was greeting the infant.

Mom Caroline quickly grabbed her phone to record the interaction between Nick and baby Charlie, as the youngster repeatedly said "hello" to his proud father. The video was recorded on August 21.

Check out the incredible moment below:

Caroline, from Willaston, Engalnd, said: "It was magical. We had tears in our eyes. We were just in utter shock!

"My husband Nick had Charlie in his arms and was just saying 'hello' slowly to him. I think he loves Nick's deep voice.

"Charlie was saying 'hello' back a few times and we just decided to film it as we couldn't believe he was really talking."

Well, all we can say is that it looks like Charlie and Roman have very bright futures ahead of them.
