A man has claimed that his wife "baby-trapped" him after falling pregnant seven years into their relationship.
Recently, an enraged mom-to-be revealed in a damning post on Reddit that her husband wildly accused her of intentionally becoming pregnant simply to maintain their marriage.
As the original post on the social media platform was deleted, another user shared the 32-year-old user's plight. The woman - who goes by the handle ThrowRATucanTucans - explained that the problem arose when the 35-year-old man heard that his friend Geoff, 34, had fallen victim to the controversial practice.
"Geoff's wife stopped taking the pill and fell pregnant a few months into their relationship, and only came clean after the wedding," she penned.
The wife shared that Geoff "came from a very conservative family, which his wife knew," adding: "So he felt obligated to marry her after the pregnancy. Unfortunately, he also now feels obligated to stay regardless of the clearly messed up dynamic because he feels that he has made a vow and will stick by his wife and child."
OP said her partner seemed "rattled" by his friend's situation, explaining: "I am currently four months pregnant with our first, and my husband asked me yesterday if I was trying to baby-trap him."
At first, she laughed at his question because she assumed it was a joke, but realized that he was "dead serious" and told him that since they had been together seven years, a child "was not going to 'trap him' any more than he already is".
The conversation turned deadly serious as her husband did not like that answer, and said: "There was no time limit on baby trapping, and that my intentions were clearly not pure given how I was acting as if his concerns were a joke. He said he had trusted me in the past, but me laughing in his face gave him no reason to trust me now".
Safe to say, the man left his wife confused by his reaction so she informed him that they would resume the conversation in the morning. The next day, he abandoned her without a word, and she got a "nasty text from his brother saying that I had forced my husband into this pregnancy - despite it having been a joint decision!"
"My husband was MIA and not responding to calls or texts," she wrote.
OP called her best friend, who was "furious" on her behalf, and said she would speak about the situation to her husband, who is a family lawyer. The lawyer told the pregnant woman he would "happily" represent her if she was considering a divorce.
The next day, the woman's mother-in-law came to the house and "practically dragged" her son along with her, whom she was angry with. The man told his estranged wife that he was afraid of becoming a dad, and "wasn't ready for that kind of commitment, but he will step up," however, his partner was not pleased with his explanation.
The couple separated for a while after, and in that time, the woman discovered that she was having a little girl and shared the happy news with her mother-in-law who organized a lunch for her and her husband.
After the man also found out that he was having a daughter, his "eyes lit up" and asked his wife if he could "come home," but at that point, she already made the decision to divorce him.

Towards the end of the post, the pregnant woman revealed that she told her mother-in-law that they would always be family, and concluded: "I don't know what will happen next, but I feel much calmer and like I am making the right decision."
