Interabled couple Shane and Hannah Burcaw reveal method for how they initiate 'spicy time'
Only a few weeks after announcing the very exciting news that they are expecting their first child early next year, interabled influencer couple Hannah and Shane Burcaw have opened up about how they initiate intimacy.
The couple, known online as Squirmy and Grubs, make candid content about how they navigate their lives with Shane's spinal muscular atrophy, which requires him to use a wheelchair.
In a joint Instagram post shared on September 8, the couple penned: "We are beyond ecstatic to announce that we’re expecting our first child this coming January!
"Hannah is 20 weeks pregnant, and although we’ve been thoroughly enjoying this special time in privacy so far, we’ve also missed sharing all the joy with you, and there’s SO MUCH to share!"
How do the couple initiate intimacy?
In a much more recent video, posted on Facebook earlier this week, the couple answered a rather intimate question from a follower about their "spicy life".
Shane, without so much as blushing, answered: "If Hannah is initiating, she just begins and sees how I respond."
Addressing his wife, he continued: "You touch me, and if I'm into it, then that's where we go."
Although they have made it sound as simple as it would be in a relationship between two able-bodied people, Shane admitted that he cannot initiate intimacy as simply as Hannah can.
Explaining how he lets his partner know he's in the mood without physically touching her, Shane said: "I cannot really do that, so I very much just say what I want and see how Hannah feels about it."
Chiming in, Hannah added: "Just using our words, definitely."
The couple faced years of fertility struggles
While the couple has previously been very open about the years of fertility struggles they have faced, it likely was not lack of trying that held them back.
According to social media updates, the excited parents-to-be are "doing great and cannot wait to begin sharing" their road to having their baby, which they will be sharing on their newly launched baby blog.
However, they have revealed that they will be cautious about how much of their child's life they share online.
Since the announcement, Shane has spoken openly about one of his biggest concerns surrounding fatherhood.
In a post shared on Facebook, he wrote: "One of my biggest worries about having children is the extent to which I’ll be able to physically interact with them."
He added that this worry also extended to whether he would be able to feel their baby kicking while still in the womb.
The content creator added: "I know and believe that parenting and love do not require physical ability, but I still grapple with those deep-down anxieties at times, especially as our baby began kicking in Hannah’s womb a few weeks ago.
"I hoped, but didn’t know for certain, whether I’d be able to reach my arms far enough to feel the kicking myself."
