A contestant appearing on the TBS reboot of Wipeout has died after completing the show’s famous obstacle course.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the unnamed male contestant died on Wednesday after completing the American game show's popular obstacle course.
Sources close to production told the New York Post that the contestant was tended to by on-set emergency personnel while on the set in Santa Clarita, California.

The man reportedly suffered from an "undisclosed medical emergency". Reports add that he was experiencing chest pains before midday and medics used a defibrillator on him.
The Post adds that the contestant was not on the course at the time.
He was later transported to hospital but sadly did not survive.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that all contestants "undergo a medical exam before they are cleared to participate in the show".

In a statement provided to The Post, a TBS spokesman said:
"We are devastated to have learned of his passing, and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family."
Officials from Endemol Shine North America - who produces the show - also said in a statement: "We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and our thoughts are with them at this time."
The rebooted show is currently on a scheduled holiday break, but production is expected to resume following the Thanksgiving holiday, THR adds.
It will be co-hosted by WWE superstar-turned-actor John Cena and Nailed It comedian Nicole Byer.

The official synopsis for the series - which originally aired on ABC from 2008 to 2014 - states: "Wipeout will feature twists and new elements that will push contestants' athleticism and determination to even greater extremes, all while delivering some wildly epic fails!
"Each game is three rounds, with each round featuring a jaw-dropping, multi-stage obstacle course with numerous strategy and decision points designed to further challenge the stamina of the competitors and deliver hilarious and surprising wipeouts.
"And of course, the iconic staple of the show—the big balls!—are returning with a vengeance."
