Taylor Lewis, a former star of the reality TV show Teen Mom 2, has been found dead at the age of 29, her sister confirmed.
Lewis was found in a hotel on January 5, with her cause of death being "still unknown", as detectives are reportedly investigating whether it may have been homicide.
The 29-year-old North Carolina native had appeared on Teen Mom 2 with former best friend Jenelle Evans in 2014 when Evans confided in her about her pregnancy.
The pair's friendship ended up breaking down shortly after the show but the reason for them going their separate ways was never made public.
Her sister, Haylee Lewis, told InTouch: "I've been speaking with detectives too, and they are saying they saw footage of two men with Taylor in the hotel room,” adding that she was found dead by a housekeeper “hours later.”
Little else is known at this stage about the circumstances of Lewis's death.
Evans took to Facebook after the news broke to share a tribute to her former friend, writing alongside a series of snaps of them together: "Taylor what happened?!
"We were once best friends and we went our separate ways because of the diff crowds we chose to hangout with. I wanted to see you eventually flourish as a woman from a distance but was always rooting for you.
"I don’t know what happened but I am very saddened to hear this news and hope you’re resting easy. I’m so sorry and sending your family prayers, #SweetAngel #RIP."
She added: "(I feel awful for not answering her in March 2022, but I felt like she wasn’t doing her best)."
Evans also urged her followers: "If your friends message you, just respond back. See how they are doing. Check up on them."
Lewis was previously married to Courtland Rogers, with whom she shared her daughter Jordan Ashlee Nikole Lewis, born in 2011.
After the pair split, Rogers began dating Evans and the pair married in 2012 before Evans filed for divorce around a month after their wedding.
During Lewis's appearance on Teen Mom 2 in 2014, Evans confessed to her: "I did relapse [on heroin] one time and that was when I met Courtland.
"Me and him, we got married only after three months of dating. I’m so mad at myself for marrying someone that I didn’t think through."
She continued: "I went to the doctor the other day ‘cause I was sick. And they were like, 'We can’t give you a chest X-ray because you’re pregnant.'"
Evans later decided to have an abortion, saying she was "upset" with herself.
She and her husband David Eason now share a five-year-old daughter called Ensley, and Evans also has a 13-year-old son Jace with Andrew Lewis and Kaiser, eight, with ex Nathan Griffith.
Lewis previously described her own daughter as "the best thing that has ever happened to me" in her Twitter profile.
