As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its 13th day, an AI-generated image may just shed light on the alleged perpetrator.
In a recent YouTube video, Professor Nez revealed what he claims is an artificial intelligence rendering of the masked suspect seen in doorbell footage outside Guthrie’s Arizona home.
The AI image, he says, may show what the suspect could look like without a mask — and the resemblance to someone connected to the family has sparked intense online speculation.
YouTuber Uses AI To Unmask Alleged Kidnapper
Professor Nez states: "Okay, this is where AI has come in right.
"What you see on the screen right here is AI putting a mask on Dominic Aaron Lee Evans.
"Dominic Aaron Lee Evans is a longtime friend and former bandmate of Tomasso Cioni, Annie Guthrie's husband, Nancy Guthrie's son-in-law."
Nez then pointed to what he described as striking similarities between the AI-generated face and the masked figure seen in previously released footage.
"That is very eerily similar because if you look at the facial hair on the chin there, you look at the eyes and the eyebrows, that is eerie," he said.
"Extremely eerie because, you know, if you see this image right here of the suspect in the video that was released and this Evans character, you start to notice some very eerie similarities.
"Also, this photo that I put on the thumbnail."
According to Nez, he used Grok AI to digitally remove the mask from the suspect’s face.
"So we asked Grok AI to take the mask off and that is what AI come up with and it is really really accurate as far as what the individual may look like.
"Again, technology is so advanced now. It's absolutely out of this world."
"It's doing all sorts of things in many many different fields and many many different industries. I have an AI assistant that helps me with my work and research.
"I mean, this is a really powerful side by side."
The AI rendering has not been confirmed by law enforcement, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspect in the case.
New Surveillance Video Shows Bald Man Near Scene
While the AI image is circulating online, investigators are also reviewing newly surfaced surveillance footage filmed roughly five miles from Guthrie’s home in Tucson.
In a video obtained by TMZ, a bald man wearing a gray jacket and jeans is seen around 1:53AM on February 1 — the same time window in which Guthrie is believed to have disappeared. The man appears to attempt to climb a wall before abandoning the effort and walking away.
Notably, the individual in the footage is wearing a backpack that closely resembles the one carried by the masked and armed suspect captured in earlier doorbell camera footage outside Guthrie’s residence. However, the similarity stops short of a confirmed identification.
Law enforcement has not announced any direct link between the man in the new footage and the suspect previously shown tampering with Guthrie’s video doorbell.
Blood Evidence and White Tent Raise Further Questions
The investigation has remained active and highly visible in recent days. Blood was discovered outside the 84-year-old’s home, and authorities later found a single black glove.
On February 12, a large white tent was erected outside the property. Officials have not publicly stated the reason for the tent’s presence, though it may signal ongoing forensic analysis at the scene.
Earlier footage released by police showed a masked and armed individual appearing to interfere with Guthrie’s video doorbell system on the night she vanished.
Several ransom notes have also been received, including two from someone claiming to know the kidnappers’ identities. Despite those communications, authorities have not disclosed any confirmed leads pointing to Guthrie’s location.
