Another video filmed near Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home may provide a better look at the suspect in her alleged kidnapping.
New video evidence shows a man just five miles away on the night of the incident.
Nancy Guthrie has been missing for 12 days
Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for 12 days after an alleged kidnapping incident.
Police found blood outside her home, recently discovered a single black glove, and have even released camera footage showing a masked and armed suspect seeming to tamper with her video doorbell.
Several ransom notes have been received, including two from someone claiming to have information about the identity of the kidnappers, but so far police seem no closer to identifying the whereabouts of the missing woman.
However, now there has been another development, and the suspect may have been pictured without a mask.
In a video obtained by TMZ, a bald man wearing a gray jacket and jeans can be seen at around 1:53am on February 1, right in the window that Guthrie is believed to have gone missing within.
He can be seen attempting to scale a wall in Tucson, before aborting the attempt and walking away.
The man in the footage can be seen to be wearing a backpack that is almost identical to that of the masked man in the doorbell footage.
However, this is a long way from a positive ID.
It’s something for law enforcement to work with, though.
White tent erected outside Guthrie house
Earlier today (February 12) a large white tent could be seen outside the Guthrie house, although it is not clear why it is there.
It is known that blood was discovered outside the home, so it is possible that more forensic tests are taking place.
Savannah Guthrie has shared a number of public messages since her beloved mother’s disappearance.
In one, she wrote: “Our lovely mom.
“We will never give up on her.
“Thank you for your prayers and hope”
A man was arrested and subsequently released without charge in connection with the alleged kidnapping, but so far police have no strong leads.
Pima County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that no further press conferences will be held until there is significant evidence to report.
The FBI has put forward a $50,000 reward for information leading to Guthrie’s safe return and the identity of the kidnappers.
