Donald Trump's relationship with one of his closest White House aides has come under renewed scrutiny after her estranged brother described the pair's bond as "very unhealthy".
Natalie Harp, 34, has become one of the most recognizable figures in Trump's inner circle, earning the nickname "the human printer" for her habit of following the president with a portable printer and providing him with hard copies of articles, emails and other documents.
But now, her brother Preston Harp has publicly criticized both Trump and his sister's devotion to the president.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Preston described Trump as a "national embarrassment" and claimed Natalie's relationship with the 80-year-old president had become concerning.
"She's just like his fan club," he told the outlet.
Harp first came to Trump's attention in 2019 when she publicly thanked him for signing the Right to Try Act, legislation designed to expand access to experimental medical treatments.
The former One America News Network (OAN) host later joined Trump's team and has remained a constant presence around the president ever since.
Her loyalty has become the subject of increasing attention following the publication of Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, a new book by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.
According to the book, Harp allegedly left personal notes for Trump in areas reserved for the president.
One note reportedly read: "You are all that matters to me."
The authors claim the messages raised concerns among some members of Trump's staff.
Questions about Harp's closeness to Trump were also raised in journalist Michael Wolff's book All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America.
According to Wolff, Harp's admiration for Trump was well known among campaign staffers, with the author describing her as having a "fixation" on the future president.
The book also claims some members of the Secret Service viewed her intense loyalty as unusual, though no evidence has been presented suggesting she posed any actual threat.
Trump himself has reportedly spoken warmly about Harp's dedication.
According to Regime Change, the president once told staff members that Harp was "the only one who loved him as much as his wife and his kids."
The book also claims Trump joked: "All of you will go off and make money. She'll never leave me."
Preston Harp revealed that he and his sister have been estranged for several years and said he was surprised to learn she had become such a prominent figure in Trump's orbit.
The siblings reportedly fell out following the death of their father in 2020 and have not spoken since.
Despite the criticism, the White House has strongly defended Harp.
Responding to questions about her role, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described Harp as "one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump's team."
While the nature of Harp's relationship with Trump continues to attract attention, there is no suggestion of any romantic involvement between the pair, and she remains one of the president's most trusted advisers.
