In freshly uncovered court documents, disturbing details about Brian Hooker’s previous marriage have been revealed, just months after his wife mysteriously vanished in the Bahamas.
Years before Lynette Hooker went missing after allegedly falling overboard from a boat, her husband was accused of physical abuse, harassment, violent outbursts, and disturbing porn use by his ex-wife, Elizabeth Hoseth.
Although she died in 2024, documents revealed that Hoseth obtained a personal protection order (PPO) against Hooker after the Marine veteran had threatened her with an “accident” during their divorce in 1999.
In her application for a PPO from a judge at the time of the divorce, Hoseth wrote, “In our most recent phone conversation, he suggested that I not mess with him, that there could be an ‘accident.'
“I tried to get him to elaborate… he just said, ‘Everyone knows how I am, there could be an accident.'”
In another handwritten letter she disclosed even more disturbing details about their two-year marriage. She declared, “The reason that I am requesting the PPO is because my husband has a violent temper.
“During the course of our marriage he drank, indulged in pornography and was verbally, emotionally and physically abusive to me.
“I have been kicked, pushed down, spat on by him. He also during his ‘rages’ would destroy things such as rocking chairs, telephones etc… My walls have plenty of ‘marks’ left by him.”
In a desperate plea to get the alleged abuser out of her life, she also claimed, “He was also verbally and emotionally abusive to my first 2 children from my first marriage. He is also a thief. He took the equity check from my house, forged my signature, cashed it, and kept the money.”
According to documents, the PPO order banned Hooker from entering Hoseth’s property, “attacking, beating, molesting or wounding,” her, “threatening to kill or physically injure,” her, and taking away her child.
Just a year after the couple’s toxic marriage ended, it was revealed Hooker was in a new relationship with Lynette, who he would stay with until her suspicious death this year.
When Lynette disappeared on April 4, after Hooker reported her accidentally falling overboard from the couple’s dinghy, he was detained and investigated, but released just five days later without formal charges.
Although the US Coast Guard recently concluded their major forensic dive operation and seized the couple’s dinghy, Lynette’s body has never been recovered
Hooker has consistently denied any wrongdoing, but Lynette’s family has accused Hooker of having some involvement in her disappearance.
