JD Vance breaks silence on why he and Donald Trump suffered historic midterm loss
Following a landslide victory for the Democrats and a crushing blow to the White House, Vice President JD Vance has revealed the reason he believes that Trump and his government suffered a historic defeat in yesterday's midterm elections.
In a lengthy post on X shortly after a catastrophic Republican loss became clear, Vance clarified: "The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.
"But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there."
Vance urged voters not to give up on the Republican Party, but to support it under different leadership
Directly addressing voters who used their vote to hold Trump accountable for the decisions he has made in the first two years of this tenure, Vance said: "To the people who are pi***d off and want to say, 'I told you so': you're right, you did tell us so.
"Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let's take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country."
He added: "If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest."
JD Vance claims that he is still hopeful about the Republicans' future
However, somehow the vice president has argued that he remains "hopeful about our country".
Trump, among many other brash comments, claimed that he would have won by a "landslide" if his name had been on the ballot.
Fox News' exit polling revealed that 87 percent of participants had serious concerns over the substantial hike in gas prices, with 62 percent blaming Trump's policies directly.
The stark surveys also showed that his personal popularity rating stood at a dismal 38 percent, a figure that CBS News and CNN also reported.
