As President of the United States, Donald Trump has begun to use his considerable constitutional power to pardon those convicted of federal crimes during both of his terms in the Oval Office.
Naturally, many of these pardoned by President Trump have been, like him, celebrities.
Here’s a full list of every celebrity that Trump has pardoned during his time as President.
Lil Wayne
One of the most celebrated rappers of his generation, as well as a mentor to superstars Drake and Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne was pardoned by Trump in January 2021.
Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., pleaded guilty to felony gun possession in 2020 and was facing up to a decade in jail as a result.
Many believe his pardon came after the rapper shared a photo of himself and Trump in 2020.
Announcing his pardon, the White House said that Wayne had exhibited generosity through ‘a commitment to a variety of charities, including donations to research hospitals and a host of food banks.’
NBA YoungBoy Never Broke Again
Rapper NBA YoungBoy Never Broke Again (often referred to as just NBA YoungBoy) was pardoned of his crimes by Trump earlier this year.
Previously, the musician - who has previously collaborated with the likes of Migos, Kanye West and Tyler, The Creator - had pleaded guilty to a variety of gun-related charges in multiple states.
He thanked President Trump for the pardon, telling the AP that the pardon would ‘give me the opportunity to keep building - as a father, a man, an artist.’
Kodak Black
Another rapper, Kodak Black was pardoned towards the end of Trump’s first year as President, alongside fellow star Lil Wayne.
He’d been serving four years behind bars on federal gun charges. The White House said Black’s clemency came as a result of his ‘[commitment] to supporting a variety of charitable efforts, such as providing educational resources to students and families of fallen law enforcement officers and the underprivileged.’
Jay Johnston
Actor Jay Johnston was a cast member for beloved shows such as Bob’s Burgers before he was arrested for his involvement in the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol in Washington, D.C in 2021.
Johnston was initially sentenced to more than a year in jail, NPR says this was down to him having ‘cracked jokes and interacted with other rioters as he used a cellphone to record the violence around him.’
Along with hundreds of other protestors from January 6, Johnston was freed this January.
Todd and Julie Chrisley
A popular reality TV couple on the series Chrisley Knows Best, the married Todd and Julie were convicted in 2022 for a raft of fraud-related charges.
Announcing his pardon of the pair, Trump told the couple’s daughter, Savannah, that ‘they don’t look like terrorists to me,’ and wished them well.
Following their release, the Chrisleys are now set to star in a brand-new reality show.
