After a performer that Donald Trump said had “no talent” pulled out of this month’s festival celebrating 250 years of America, the president has announced the lineup that will replace them.
In his typical unconventional way of making announcements, he posted on Truth Social saying, “On Wednesday, June 24th, at 7 P.M., in magnificent Washington, D.C., now totally beautified, and one of the Safest Cities anywhere in the World, and in celebration of our Country’s 250 Year History, we will be bringing you, LIVE, the Greatest Rally, EVER!”
Describing the event set to take place at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Trump claimed, “It will be special at every level — A Rally to end all Rallies!”
He added, “We don’t want singers with no talent, but big fees to put you to sleep, we’ve told them all to stay home.
“All we want is you, me, a few speakers, and the Greatest Music ever played, the same Music you have listened to for years!”
Despite Trump’s bold claims that the celebration, which has been years in the planning, will be playing the “greatest music ever played”, it is questionable that anyone outside of his almost octogenarian age bracket would agree.
Announcing the lineup, the boomer president said, “We will have the fabulous Lee Greenwood introducing me with what has turned out to be one of the Greatest Hits of All Time, GOD BLESS THE U.S.A., and the amazing Christopher Macchio, who will sing Nessun Dorma, Hallelujah, Ave Maria, God Bless America, and others — Not since the legendary Luciano Pavarotti has there been such a voice!”
According to Trump, the US Army Band, Armed Forces Choir, US Marine Band, and Joint Armed Forces Chorus will also perform “all of your favorite Hits,” whatever they might be.
Unsurprisingly, a voice that hasn’t been heard enough over the last year and a half will also have something to say.
The 79-year-old president informed attendees that “a fine and highly dignified gentleman known as President DONALD J. TRUMP” will speak at the rally.
The Great American State Fair festivities were allegedly organised by Freedom 250, a group created via executive order by Trump. After announcing last week that it had booked several guests to perform, many have since pulled out.
Morris Day, Young MC, the Commodores, Bret Michaels, and Martina McBride were just some of the arguably more well-known artists than the ones the president announced this week who pulled out from the event after finding out more about it.
They reportedly dropped out because they learned that Freedom 250 was tied to the Trump administration after claiming to have previously been misled.
