A young couple who died days apart, just a matter of weeks after their wedding, have left their family and friends heartbroken.
Adam Hencek, 23, and Tomas Fueller, 25, who lived in Tipperary, Ireland, both unexpectedly lost their lives just a month after they tied the knot.
Adam died unexpectedly at the couple's home on Tuesday, June 2, while his husband Tomas died just three days later on Friday, June 5.
The young couple, both originally from Slovakia, were remembered in a combined cremation service in Cork last week.
According to local newspaper Cork Beo, the newlyweds were described as having an "energy and love of life" that was "infectious".
A notice of their death, breaking the tragic news, stated that the pair will be deeply missed by their devoted families, Adam's parents, Peter and Lubica, and Tomas' grandparents, Jozefa and Milan.
Over €12,000 has been donated to help cover funeral costs after Adam's aunt, Mirka Kohutovičová, set up a GoFundMe campaign.
On the fundraising website, Kohutovičová wrote: "I am fundraising for the joint funeral of my nephew Adam Hencek and his husband Tomas Feuller, who tragically passed away on 02.06.2026 and 05.06.2026, respectively.
"We would greatly appreciate any donations to help fund the wake and the cremation of the newlyweds."
Donations have since been paused as the target was met and exceeded.
Thanking the people who donated, she shared an update saying: "We really appreciate all of the donations. We reached our goal thanks to all of your help, which we are so grateful for. Thank you all for supporting our family at this time."
Friends and acquaintances of the new husbands flooded social media with tributes to the pair.
A friend of the couple said: "To my darling friend, my condolences on your passing to your family at this sad time. Especially to your beloved Tomas. You were the brightest light on this earth and I know you'll be the brightest star. You will be beyond missed."
Another one said: "So sad... Adam taught me piano briefly, he was a brilliant teacher and a gentleman.. My thoughts are with Adam's family and friends at this awfully sad time, may he rest in peace".
A third recent acquaintance added: "Very sad to hear this. We met Adam and Tomas last year through work and their energy and love of life was infectious."

A tragic accident has left a young bride and groom dead a mere two hours after they'd been married in a fairytale ceremony in Uvalde, Texas.
Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman, a couple who met while studying together at Sam Houston State University, perished along with a pilot when their helicopter crashed into a hill a mere mile away from the ranch they'd been wed at, in the early hours of Sunday, November 4.
Troopers from the State Department of Public Safety, along with a number of Border Patrol agents and members of the local Volunteer Fire Department scoured the surrounding environs to find the fuselage just around daybreak.

On Facebook, maid-of-honor Jessica Stilley paid tribute to the deceased couple, writing: "My sweet Bailee Raye, my heart is broken in a million little pieces as I sit here and think of the rest of my life without my best friend. I'm so sad to even be captioning these pictures with this, but you know I just have to share with everyone how beautiful you looked on your wedding day like I normally would have."
She added: "I'm so happy you married the man of your dreams and found the precious love you deserved with him. We always said we'd find the men to sweep us off our feet one day and boy am I'm so happy you get to be with him in the best forever you could imagine. Thank you for loving me."
Madi Wagner, who was a friend of the pair, wrote "I am having a hard time comprehending this whole situation, but I have not once asked why. These two spent their last day on this earth celebrating with their most cherished loved ones- I believe it truly was the best day of their lives. I know for certain God needed these two sweet souls more than we did here on earth. I know for certain they have made him proud, for the work they have done here on earth as well."
She added: "To see all of the people that loved these two so greatly is a blessing. As a Christian, I know that God’s hands are upon them and what better honeymoon could anyone ever imagine than entering those gates and spending their first days as husband and wife at God’s right hand."

Tragically, upon announcing her engagement on Instagram, Bailee wrote: "Thank you to everyone who sent us their best wishes when WE GOT ENGAGED!!!' Will and I have the best support system out there, and I honestly cannot truly express how blessed we are. I am in awe of you, Will Byler, and I hope that everyone gets to experience a love like the one we have. Today is the beginning of forever TOGETHER! [sic]"

Danielle Cumberworth and Ashley Grant-Smith first met while on holiday in Crete in 2015, and the couple immediately hit it off. When they returned back to England, they decided to start up a relationship, even though they weren't living in the same city. Before long, they had got engaged to marry, but things took a tragic turn.
Ashley found a lump on his neck, and after a blood test soon found he had a rare form of blood cancer. The couple moved in together, while Ashley underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy over the next few months: treatments that were unfortunately unsuccessful. They were planning to get married at his parents' home in Leicester, but Ashley never made it to their wedding day.
In fact, Danielle was at the Leicester Registry Office sorting documents for their wedding, when her husband-to-be passed away.
Speaking to the Leicester Mercury, Danielle said:
"I went into Leicester to get the paperwork sorted. I knew Ashley had had a rough night, but I had to go to get into town to get the go-ahead for the wedding the next day.
"As soon as I stepped inside the register office, I got a call from Ashley’s dad. He told me to come back as soon as I could.
"I knew then that Ashley had died.
"When I got back to his parents’ house he was just lying there. It was awful."
However, this tragic ending had a bittersweet epilogue. Ashley, who died at the age of 27 after a two-year battle with his illness, had one last gift to give his loved one. The couple already had their wedding rings sorted but, unbeknownst to Danielle, he had also ordered an engagement ring as a surprise gift. However, it only arrived two months after his death.
"Two months after Ashley died, I got home from work and had missed a parcel being delivered. I went to the sorting office and picked it up.
"I opened it up in the car and it was an engagement ring from Ashley.
"It was total surprise. I didn’t cry, I laughed. He had not told me about it at all. It is a beautiful diamond ring in white gold."
"The ring had taken two months to get to me because he had had it specially made to his own design. I will treasure it forever, and our wedding rings that were never used."
Before Ashley passed away, the couple had been fundraising for him to go through immunotherapy later this year, raising £25,000 ($33,000) in just a few weeks. Recently, Danielle ran the London Marathon, raising money for the charity Bloodwise, in the name of the husband she lost.
"I am sad we didn’t get to say our wedding vows to each other," she said, "but I have the rings to keep."

A British man has died, and his girlfriend was left fighting for her life after the couple was allegedly given spiked drinks while on vacation in Thailand.
Tom Pardhy, 38, tragically passed away in Bangkok on March 6 after being found 'unresponsive,' just 24 hours after his partner Naomi Raksha, 31, suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital.
Naomi was later said to have been 'pronounced dead multiple times' before slipping into a coma, the Daily Mail reported.
The couple had been travelling around the country for several weeks when their trip took a devastating turn.
Naomi was reportedly rushed to the hospital in a blue tuk-tuk and later intubated in the ICU due to poisoning, while Tom’s death was confirmed days later on March 11.
In a heartbreaking statement, Tom’s family described his death as "sudden, accidental, and unexpected".
"It is with indescribable grief and sadness that we are writing to tell you of the sudden, accidental, and unexpected death of our dear Tom in Bangkok last Friday 6th of March," they wrote.
"We know this will come as a terrible shock to all his many friends. He was an absolute beacon of light in his East London community and beyond."
"From the festival circuit, to his beloved yoga community, we know he will be dearly missed by so many," the statement continued.
"Our breaking hearts go out to you all...We will share here when we have more information about a gathering to celebrate Tom’s life."
"We are keeping what we know about the circumstances of his death within our close family and friends, and ask that any questions about exactly what has happened are not asked here.
"Please respect our privacy at this time."
"We are deeply comforted in the knowledge that his last month in Thailand with his love Naomi was truly the happiest of his life," they said, adding: "Lastly, if you feel to write any posts honouring Tom's life, that you please use the hashtag #TLPLOVE so we can all read them all. With love from Joanna, Alex, and Naomi (Tom's mother, sister, and girlfriend)."
Naomi’s mother, Heather, confirmed she had travelled to Thailand to support her daughter and claimed on Facebook that the couple "were given spiked drinks in Bangkok".
A GoFundMe has been set up by the woman's brother and has already raised $10,090 of the $40K target.
After waking from a coma, Naomi shared an emotional tribute on Instagram detailing the moment her life changed forever.
"On the morning of March 6 in Bangkok, my life changed in a way I never could have imagined," she wrote.
"I suffered a heart attack and was pronounced dead multiple times before slipping into a coma. By every medical measure, the odds of surviving weren’t in my favour - yet somehow, I am still here."
She continued: "I am beyond grateful to have been given another chance at life… but that gratitude exists alongside profound grief, guilt, and remorse.
"Tom’s mission was to save the life of the woman he loved- and he accomplished that. It’s one of the only truths that keeps my head above water."
"He was my best friend, my biggest fan, my rock, my confidant, my teammate - my guy.
"I loved him like I’ve never loved anything before, and the past six weeks we had together were magic. That’s what I’m holding onto to get through this."
Naomi, who is now recovering in a rehabilitation centre, shared: "I know Tom would want me to take care of myself and do something meaningful with this opportunity of life.
"For that reason, I have admitted myself into a rehabilitation center to focus on my physical recovery, while also receiving treatment for grief, PTSD and trauma."
"Healing, I’m learning, is not linear - it requires patience, humility, and support," she continued.
"With that, I want to thank everyone who has reached out and held me in your thoughts. I’m currently too overwhelmed to respond to all of the messages, but your kindness means the world to me."
Tom was a well-known name in the music and events industry, having worked across major festivals including Kala, Houghton, Hideout, Dimensions, and Morocco’s Oasis Festival.
He also worked on marketing for Corsica Studios and co-founded his own events company, We Concur, booking acts including Oasis.
Outside of music, he was also known as a yoga instructor, accredited life coach, and youth mentor.
It is believed his cremation will take place at a Bangkok Buddhist temple.
Our thoughts are with Tom's loved ones at this time.
An eight-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a horror car accident alongside his father, just four days after his mom died.
As reported by News.com.au, a boy named Harley Smith and the driver of the vehicle - presumed to be his father per the outlet - were the victims of a deadly truck-and-car crash.
The pair died at the scene when they collided with a truck on Willow Grove Road in Trafalgar, 125 kilometers east of Melbourne, on Sunday evening (April 14).
The heartbreaking incident occurred just a few days after the pair lost their loved one, Amy Galea, according to a family friend's GoFundMe page.
April Damschke set up a fundraising page to help with the funeral costs following the devastating tragedies. As of the time of writing, $1,500 has been raised from the intended $10,000 target. "This fundraiser is to help with the funeral cost of Amy and her beautiful boy Harley," she wrote.
Damschke revealed that Harley’s mother - who is from Warragul, 15 minutes west of Trafalgar - tragically died four days before her son after succumbing to her battle with cancer.
"Amy Galea was diagnosed with stage four cancer at the age of 39, passing just four weeks later. Amy lost her battle and gained her wings," she penned.
Damschke stated that Amy's son was tragically killed after a truck collided with a car in Trafalgar, adding that the shocking events had "devastated Amy’s family and left them helpless".
"Donations will be used to help lay Amy and her son to rest, anything will be greatly appreciated," she shared. "Funeral service dates are yet to be determined."

A widowed groom whose wife was tragically killed on their wedding day has recalled the moment he learned she had died.
As previously reported, 34-year-old Samantha "Sam" Hutchinson tied the knot with the love of her life Aric Hutchinson on April 28 this ear, in a beautiful wedding ceremony surrounded by friends and family at Folly Beach in South Carolina.
Just before leaving their wedding reception at 10:00 PM, the loving newlyweds were photographed beaming from ear to ear as they made their way to a golf cart to take them from the venue.
However, their happiness was heartbreakingly short-lived, as their golf cart was struck by an alleged drunk driver - who has since been named as 25-year-old Jamie Lee Komoroski.
Sam was devastatingly pronounced dead at the scene, with Aric being rushed to a hospital where he was discovered to be suffering from multiple broken bones and brain trauma. Following this, a GoFundMe page was set up in an effort to provide financial relief in the wake of Aric's skyrocketing medical costs, as well as to help fund his late wife's funeral.
Despite being created less than two weeks ago by Aric's mother Annette Hutchinson, close to 20,000 people have sent their condolences and sent in donations, which have reached a whopping $704,000.
This week, Aric spoke to Good Morning America about the horrific incident, and what had happened the moment he learned that his wife had passed away.
Recalling the love he had for his wife, Aric stated: "Sam's just got that glow. She's the type that walks in a room, and you notice," adding that: "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. That night, going from an all-time high to an all-time low, it's pretty rough to try to comprehend."
The widowed groom then discussed the moment he learned that Sam had died, telling the outlet that he doesn't remember the crash, but remembers the last thing Sam told him. "I do remember the last thing I remember her saying was she wanted the night to never end," he said, before revealing that the next thing he remembered was waking up in the hospital room, asking for his wife.
"That's when [my mother] told me there's an incident and that Sam didn't make it," he recounted.
Also during the interview Aric spoke about his feelings towards Komoroski, the drunk driver who caused the crash. On Wednesday this week (May 17) he filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her and several bars and restaurants where she allegedly drank the night of the crash.
Both Komoroski's employer and supervisor were also mentioned in the lawsuit, and are also accused of "pressuring" her to attend a function and consume "excessive amounts of alcoholic beverages" the night of the accident. Though, Aric has said he is not ready to address Komoroski.
"I can't right now," he said. "I'd like to. I mean, she stole an amazing human being that should not have been taken."
Our thoughts are with Aric and Sam's family and friends at this tragic time.
