Just weeks after a young German woman was left outraged by an airline after staff allegedly told her she wasn't dressed modestly enough to board her plane, the influencer has now been banned from using her gym and hundreds of others across Europe.
Influencer Edda Pilz, 25, told her 552,000 Instagram followers in a video posted on June 25 that she was refused entry to her flight on the grounds of her outfit being too revealing.
According to Pilz, known online as Edda Elisa, airline staff allegedly told her that she looked “naked” in the athleisure she was wearing.
Not even a month later, Pilz has reportedly been banned from gym chain John Reed Fitness for reasons that have not yet been fully explained to her.
The chain, which has 48 sites across 12 countries, claims that it banned the influencer after she ignored numerous warnings about “violating house rules”. Allegedly, her mirror selfies were a large part of the problem.
Pilz claims that she only realised that she had been banned from the gym after trying to enter her usual branch and being denied access as her card had been blocked.
Unsurprisingly, she turned to Instagram to tell her hundreds of thousands of followers that her gym membership has been cancelled “without notice”, allegedly because “another woman was jealous of her”.
Shortly after her failed attempt to enter the gym, the Berlin-based content creator received a letter telling her that she was permanently forbidden from using any of the global gym chain’s facilities, except in Switzerland.
Despite reportedly seeking permission to film her workouts and take pictures of herself, Pilz believes that her fellow gym members were “provoked” by her selfie-taking.
In a TikTok video, the expelled influencer said: "I find this very strange, because the official John Reed account even reposts mirror photos of other members.”
Pilz also told German news outlet RTL that she consistently made an effort to be considerate of other people who might be in the background of her selfies and videos.
However, John Reed denied her claims and was adamant that she was warned about her membership being canceled because of her behaviour a number of times.
In a statement shared with RTE, a spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Edda Pilz has been dismissed without notice. She repeatedly violated our house rules and had previously received a warning."
In June, Pilz was prevented from boarding a Lufthansa flight after she was allegedly told by staff: “You have nothing on. You are naked."
It was only after following the instructions to cover up, Pilz put on a hoodie and zipped it up to the top, that she was allowed to enter the plane and take her seat.
Worldwide, all airlines have the right to deny their passengers entry to a flight if they deem them to be dressed in “offensive or inappropriate” attire.

A young German woman has been left outraged by an airline after staff allegedly told her she wasn't dressed modestly enough to board her plane.
Influencer Edda Pilz, 25, told her 552,000 Instagram followers in a video that she was refused entry to her flight on the grounds of her outfit being too revealing.
According to Pilz, known online as Edda Elisa, airline staff allegedly told her that she looked “naked” in the athleisure she was wearing.
The offensive incident took place during one of the hottest heatwaves Europe has ever faced, as temperatures soared over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in some countries.
The current heatwave is so severe that it has shattered all-time historical June records across multiple countries, putting over 94 million people under extreme "red alert", meaning a threat to life and heat warnings.
To try and cope with the heat, Pilz, like most people across the Northern hemisphere at the moment, was wearing shorts, paired with a small top that could have been mistaken for a sports bra.
However, as she attempted to board her Lufthansa flight by scanning her boarding pass, an airline representative reportedly told her: "You cannot board."
Allegedly, she was told: “You have nothing on. You are naked."
It was only after following the instructions to cover up, Pilz put on a hoodie and zipped it up to the top, that she was allowed to enter the plane and take her seat.

In a statement made to LADBible, the airline said: "Lufthansa takes indications of potential irregularities in the way passengers are handled very seriously and reviews such incidents internally."
The spokesperson continued: "As a general principle, Lufthansa expects all passengers to wear clothing appropriate to the nature of public travel and not to impair the well-being of fellow passengers from a wide range of countries.
"This expectation forms part of our General Conditions of Carriage. Our employees act on this basis with due discretion and within the scope of their judgment."
However, the Germany-based airline was adamant that it allows employees to act with “due discretion” to ensure passengers adhere to their rules on an aircraft.
Worldwide, all airlines have the right to deny their passengers entry to a flight if they deem them to be dressed in “offensive or inappropriate” attire.

An influencer has shared a video confronting a man on a plane after claiming that he tried to take pictures of her while she was sleeping.
Fitness content creator Anna Clara Rios - who boasts 644K followers on Instagram - took to the social media platform to share a video explaining the incident late last week.
The alleged incident took place as Rios was flying home to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, from a work-related trip to São Paulo on December 14, per Daily Mail.
In the clip which was initially posted on her Instagram Story, Rios can be seen standing in the aisle describing the incident next to the alleged culprit - who is seen in his seat, nonchalantly looking at his phone.
Watch the video below:Translated from Portuguese to English, in the video, Rios said: "I am shaking with rage. This gentleman here was taking photos of me while I was asleep, they had to let me know to move me."
Cited by the outlet, the influencer claims that she was warned of the man's alleged actions by a flight attendant, saying: "My first reaction [to the flight attendant] was, 'I work on social media, he must have recognized me.'
"But she said to me, 'I don't think that's it, while you were sleeping, he was zooming in and trying to see what was under your dress,'" she continued.
The content creator decided to confront the man and urged him to delete the pictures from his phone. She also revealed that the alleged culprit sent the snaps to someone on WhatsApp, per the New York Post.
"I felt very vulnerable and insecure so I told the flight attendant that I was going to confront him because I wanted him to delete the photos from his mobile phone," she said.
"I went to him feeling that my privacy had been invaded, I said this was not right, that I could be his mother, sister, or daughter," Rios added.
According to Daily Mail, the influencer took a screenshot of the message to later share with authorities. After the alleged incident, she said that officers were waiting to accompany the guy off the plane at Belo Horizonte International Airport.
In the footage, a police officer can be seen speaking to the man, before he is led off the plane to the sound of passengers applauding the woman.
Furthermore, Rios also gave a statement to the police and said the man was taken to a nearby police station to give a statement as well but was not placed under arrest.
An influencer who was kicked out of the gym for wearing "painted pants" has spoken out.
On Wednesday (December 27), a kick streamer named Natalie Reynolds sparked backlash after filming herself doing a "social experiment" by wearing body paint to the gym.
During the broadcast, Reynolds was confronted by an individual who called out her antics, saying: "If you don't have clothes on, you need to be out of here, ma'am!"
The woman responded by going closer to the male gymgoer so that he could see that she had "clothes on," however, he was not pleased with her answer and stated: "Not fine, I work in the industry enough to know. I work in the entertainment field."

Reynolds posted the altercation to X (formerly known as Twitter) with the caption: "Guy in the gym presses me for wearing painted pants" and it has since gone viral, gaining 33.4 million views and 12K likes.
While she was most likely expecting a positive response from viewers, the reaction online was quite the opposite as many slammed her for her behavior.
One user said: "As he should. You were in the wrong. If the rules weren't clear enough, then Gym Etiquette should be obvious to you. People are there for gains, not whatever this is. You deserve to be ridiculed. Bar none."
Another commented: "That dude was 100% right. He called out your degenerate behavior and you played victim," while a third interjected: "With painted pants and a camera, you obviously went into the gym to get a reaction, not for any other reason. You’re in the wrong here."
A fourth added: "Stop being cringe filming in a gym then, we all hate influencers like you."
Reynolds was even criticized by the social media platform's community notes, which was accompanied by a website link to a Healthline article on proper gym etiquette.
The note read: "The man in the video is protecting the overall gym etiquette according to which you should wear clothes suitable for exercise. Wearing unsuitable clothes or none at all is considered to be disrespectful towards the other. It is also a hygiene risk to others."
Despite the backlash, the streamer stood her ground as she clarified in a follow-up post that she was wearing a gym bra and bathing suit bottoms.
"Why everyone acting like I was naked lmao. The amount of women who wear pants up the ass at the gym… This is nothing bad at all," she said in one post, adding a picture of a friend painting her jeans on.
She then compared the online reaction to her content with a male YouTuber, writing: "So a guy YouTuber makes a video just like this but when I paint myself everyone is acting like the world is ending. Let me get my gains and shredded in peace pls."
In her latest tweet, Reynolds shared a picture of bodybuilders and penned: "So when people wear these outfits it’s all about body positivity but when I’m wearing more then that it’s a problem."
She claimed that the gym "allowed" her to film and had no "issue" with her content.

The popular fitness influencer has once again shown his power on social media after getting a group of women banned from a spa after they mocked a naked stranger.
Going to the gym or spa can be a daunting experience for anyone self-conscious of their body, so it should be the done thing to make people comfortable at these places.
Sadly, some take it upon themselves to ridicule others either to hide their insecurities or just to be an awful person.
Luckily, people like Swoll are on hand to call out bad behavior, and it can have devastating consequences for those involved.
Swoll has taken a stand against what he describes as "arrogant" behavior after discovering a disturbing incident at Champneys Luxury Health Spa in the UK.
The influencer, whose real name is Joseph Sergo, expressed his outrage on social media over the recording of a nude woman in the spa's locker room.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Swoll didn't mince words: "This video really p*sses me off. Pardon my language but what the f*** is wrong with you? How do you not know better than to do this to somebody?"
The footage, which circulated on social media on March 5, shows the woman changing in the locker room before the camera pans to two individuals, identified as her friends, laughing in the sauna.
The video, described as "perverted," was allegedly posted on one of the friend's Instagram stories with the caption "even a free show," per the New York Post.
Swoll, visibly angered in his video response, criticized the perpetrators for their lack of respect and empathy towards the woman.
"You and your friends sit there arrogantly laughing at her and enjoying this 'free show' as you call it – and you even tagged the location of this spa," he said.
Taking further action, Swoll directly messaged Champneys Spas via Instagram to condemn the behavior of the individuals involved. In response, Champneys Spas issued a statement expressing their shock and dismay over the incident.
"We are absolutely appalled and so upset by the actions of these individuals. Champneys is a place that prides itself on being somewhere to relax and unwind in a safe and comfortable environment, we do not condone or accept any conduct that puts our guests at risk," the spa's statement read.
The statement continued: "We have identified the guests, banned them from our properties and reported the incident to the police. Rest assured, we are reviewing our procedures and policies to ensure this does not happen again."
Swoll, urging the affected woman to press charges, emphasized the importance of respecting privacy and personal boundaries. "You need to do better. Mind your own business," he insisted.
Comments flooded in from shocked viewers, with one person stating: "This is so awful to see. The poor woman who has been violated, can’t imagine how it’s left her feeling. Why do people think it’s ok to film others without consent and in private places."
A second added: "That’s a straight up FELONY. Haul them off to prison! Where the hell do people get the absolute AUDACITY to do something like this??"

Last week, TikTok user @juliaapic shared a video with her 246,000+ followers that showed what she believes was an inappropriate incident at her gym.
Julia captioned the clip: "was honestly gonna post this on here when it happened but it was a bit too sensitive at the time lol. genuinely curious what you guys think [sic]".
The video in question shows Julia working out on a bench, with her camera placed in front of her in order to record her technique.
A man behind her - wearing a grey sweatshirt and a face mask - can then be seen positioning himself behind Julia and squatting down with his phone in his hands. After a brief moment of having his phone camera pointed at Julia, the man stands up, casually walks away, and starts to talk to his friend.
The video has since amassed over 15.4 million views on the social media platform, and despite Julia saying that the man denied ever taking a photo of her, other social media users were in agreement that he did:

Two days later, Julia posted a video update replying to many comments from the original post that told her to inform the gym's management.
In the update, Julia explains that she did tell staff after she spotted the same guy "eye up the girl on the machine" next to her.
According to Julia, staff then apparently confronted the man, who then "got mad" and stormed out. She claims that staff also made a note on his account.
After posting the original video on Instagram, Julia also says that the guy in the video found her account and started messaging her denying that he took a photo, as well as saying some "rude things".
Julia adds that she hasn't been back to the gym since the incident occurred.
