Angelina Jolie has come forward with shocking claims that her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, physically assaulted one of their children in a violent dispute aboard the couple's private jet in 2016, recently filed court documents have shown.
The former spouses are continuing their years-long separation battle that involves a dispute over a division of assets. In fact, several days after filing for a divorce, Jolie had sold her stake in a French winery she owned with Pitt. After her former husband sued her, Jolie countersued him this Tuesday (October 4), according to Page Six.
In his lawsuit against the Tomb Raider star, 58-year-old Pitt claimed that Jolie's stake in their French property - Château Miraval - was sold without his consent.
However, Jolie alleges in her countersuit that the father-of-six lost this privilege after requesting she sign non-disclosure agreements requiring her to keep silent outside of court on the violent private jet incident in 2016, Page Six detailed.
Court documents revealed detailed allegations previously not known to the public, including that Pitt had apparently "choked" one of their children and "struck another in the face" during a heated incident, The Mirror reported.
Lawyers acting on behalf of Jolie claimed that Pitt was "emotionally and physically abusive" towards her and their children during this incident, all six of whom were under the age of 15.
"On September 14, 2016, Jolie's marriage came to an end. On that day, Jolie, Pitt and their children were flying to Los Angeles from Chateau Miraval," the documents state.
"Throughout the long, overnight flight, Pitt was physically and emotionally abusive to Jolie and their children, who were then between the ages of eight and 15," they continue.
"When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him. To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane's seats injuring Jolie's back and elbow. The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face," the documents allege.
"Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying," more claims revealed.
As previously reported, some details of this incident have already been made public - including that Pitt reportedly poured beer and wine on Jolie and the children.
Pitt has refuted the disturbing allegations, however, he did admit to GQ that his reliance on alcohol had "become a problem," causing his marriage to Jolie to crumble.
"She continues to rehash, revise and reimagine her description of an event that happened six years ago by adding completely untrue information each time she fails to get what she wants. Her story is constantly evolving," a source close to Pitt stated to The Daily Mail.
"She had the chance to share this during the lengthy custody trial, which resulted in the judge granting 50-50 custody to Pitt following in-depth observations and analysis by doctors, therapists, and other experts. Her and her team go back to the same thing month after month with new and false information," the source added.
