Britney Spears's Instagram account has been deactivated, and fans are concerned for her well-being.
Britney, 41, has vanished from the social media platform for the third time in four months, with fans being left unsure whether the star is in control of her account, per the Daily Mail.
Questions arose when the singer posted a message to her estranged sister Jamie Lynn, and some fans speculated that the complimentary post was not sent by Britney herself.
Fans of the pop star are understandably protective after the singer spent nearly 14 years in a conservatorship, which saw all aspects of her life controlled by those around her - including her father.
Britney's followers have now taken to TikTok to voice recent concerns over the singer, with some speculating that the singer could be in genuine trouble.
An account titled "Britney's not free" has taken to the video platform to claim that Britney's family and friends are creating a "charade" and that the singer could be deceased.
The account goes on to state that Britney is "definitely not out in public" and that she hopes the singer is "just locked up" as opposed to something more sinister.
Another video - posted to the platform by Barb (@fleegus159_barb) - called into question a recent clip that Britney uploaded to Instagram where she was thanking her husband Sam Ashgari for her birthday celebrations.
The video asked: "Ok I'm just gonna say it. Britney is not free. Or she's already gone. WTF IS THIS!?!?! Where is she!?!? Why does this sound like they're playing sound bits of her voice!?!? Why is she wearing her COVID EXTENSIONS!?!? Where is she!!??"
Commentators on both videos have also stated their concern, with one person saying: "Sounds like a recording of her. She’s not there. It’s actually just a video of him. I think she’s really not free. He’s controlling her now."
A second person added: "It really is so weird that she’s not out in public ANYWHERE. Unless she really is just so scared to be out there… because trauma. But omg," and a third said: "I need a live interview where I actually see her…"
We hope to see Britney safe and sound soon.

Britney Spears' husband Sam Asghari has addressed fan rumors that he controls his wife's Instagram, after her account mysteriously disappeared.
The couple has been faced with a storm of questions from supporters who are concerned for the 41-year-old 'Toxic' singer's welfare following her social media being deactivated.
Shortly after the 'Baby One More Time' hitmaker removed her Instagram account, her 28-year-old husband shut down allegations from curious fans in a recent Q&A session.
The actor and fitness model - who got engaged to Spears in September 2021 and officially tied the knot with her in June 2022 - was asked by fans if he "controls" his wife's Instagram account.
Check out Asghari's response below:
When a fan asked: "Do you control her Instagram?" Asghari denied the rumors and replied: "I would never control someone that’s been controlled for 13+ years."
However, some fans remained unconvinced by his response as one suspicious user penned: "Yeah, not buying this until we hear this from Britney herself. She posts video after video of her dancing in her living room, but then posts notes app screenshots when she has something to say. Why? Why don’t we ever see her actually speaking? Something doesn’t add up."
Another chimed in and said: "Idk man something just not right about her Instagram ATM, especially with the new post about Jamie Lynn."
A third commented: "A more reasonable answer would be - if true - 'I would never control my wife.'"
Meanwhile, other users are pleading with fans to stop "theorizing" over everything the 'Stronger' singer does, with one user writing: "I swear it's much easier for some of you to theorize that Sam or Jamie or Jamie Lynn or whoever..controls Britney's Instagram because you're not happy with some of the things she posts or some of the people she posts about instead of just being happy for her and her freedom."
Another also shared: "Free doesn’t mean being on social media 24/7 though. Britney wasn’t active on social media when it blew up. It could be that she just doesn’t care to use them. It could be that it’s just too toxic for her. We don’t know. People need to stop assuming the worst."
Before Spears deactivated her page for the third time in four months, questions were raised after she shared a complimentary post about her estranged sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
To commemorate her birthday on December 2, the award-winning singer mentioned the Zoey 101 star and said: "It's my b-day but you’re my heart so I’m thinking about you… congratulations on being so brave, inspiring, and showing guts and glory in your show."
"You ain’t alone… if anybody knows what it feels like… I get it. My baby sister!!! I love you!!!" she said, adding a photo of the 31-year-old actress playing guitar.
Some fans speculated that the strange yet endearing post was actually sent by someone on her team and not the singer herself because Spears has publicly feuded with her sister since her conservatorship was terminated in November 2021.
Earlier this year, the 'Piece of Me' musician called her younger sister "scum" in a now-deleted Instagram post after the former Nickelodeon star published her controversial memoir titled, Things I Should Have Said.

Fans are concerned for Britney's welfare yet again after she posted a video of herself naked in the shower, with some saying she has "gone too far".
Britney Spears, 41, vanished from social media for the third time in four months a couple of weeks ago, after she deactivated her Instagram account.
Fans of the star are protective of her after she spent 13 years in a conservatorship, which saw her every move controlled by her father.
Concerns for her well-being grew to the point where her husband Sam Asghari - who got engaged to Spears in September 2021 - felt the need to address rumors that she was being controlled by him.
He stated that he would never control someone, especially when they had spent most of their life being controlled by others.
The 'Toxic' singer's Instagram account has since been restored, and in typical Britney fashion, the videos often feature her nude with expressive captions.
One post has got fans concerned again, however, as it showed the music star dancing in the shower while looking down the camera lens.
Watch the now-deleted video below:The original clip has now been deleted, with Britney perhaps indicating why in a previous post. "Instagram doesn’t like posts of people revealing their bodies anymore so here’s a selfie of me in Mexico," she said.
She also updated her parents on her whereabouts: "Mom and Dad … I crossed the border and I made it !!! After no coffee for 15 years. Mom we can go have coffee together now!!! I’m treated as an equal… let’s have coffee and talk about it!!!"
The video has left fans concerned for Britney, with some indicating that the star needs to have a better support system in place around her.
"It's really all gone too far. I've been sticking up for her but the things on social media are concerning. Doesn't she have any decent people around her to help her the poor woman," a Facebook comment read.
A Twitter user stated: "I know people are concerned about Britney Spears and rightly so cos her Instagram posts are the definition of bizarre. Like, she’s not ok, something odd is going on over there."
The comments have also been turned off on Britney's Instagram posts - leading some to further the claim that she isn't the one controlling her account.

Concerned fans of Britney Spears have contacted the police to conduct a wellness check on the singer after she deleted her Instagram once again.
As reported by TMZ, the 41-year-old musician - who recently addressed a 'manic' episode in a restaurant with her husband Sam Asghari - sparked concern from fans after she suddenly deactivated her social media page.
Her supporters called the Ventura Co. Sheriff's Office to ask that officers be sent to the 'Gimme More' pop star's Thousand Oaks, California home to check on her.
Upon examination, a police spokesperson determined that the 'Toxic' hitmaker is not in any "any kind of harm or any kind of danger," and did not disclose whether they made direct contact with her, per Page Six.
According to the outlet, the officer did not reveal just how many calls they received from fans and explained that their reason for providing little information was because any more clarity made it a "public trust issue".
"It’s just a privacy thing for the residents in our county," they said. "It’s a public trust issue. We just don’t disclose those kinds of things [such as wellness checks]. It’s not a crime.
"We don’t really talk about any kind of mental health issues or anything like that," he continued before reiterating, "I can’t confirm or deny that deputies went to her house, but we don’t believe that Britney Spears is in any kind of harm or danger at this point."
Some of the Grammy-winning singer's worried supporters who made the calls to the police took to TikTok on January 26 to livestream the wellness check requests.
"I was calling because I am worried about the physical safety of a resident in your area," one of the callers, who identified herself as 'Christina,' said in the footage (that has since been deleted on the platform).
When the officer questioned why the fan wanted a wellness check, 'Christina' responded: "There’s been suspicious activity online and now her account has been deleted."
The officer said they would pass on the information to another colleague and didn't provide any more details.
The 'Baby One More Time' hitmaker - who days ago claimed she had changed her name to River Red - has repeatedly taken down her Instagram in recent months.
Page Six reported that before Spears' most recent social media shutdown, she posted a picture of a car and a long caption, where she wrote: "sucks to be me" and: "Giving someone I love my everything only gives me the dagger in my heart!!!"
Many of her followers suspected that the caption was in reference to her marriage since media reports claimed that her 28-year-old husband walked out on her while they were dining at a restaurant.
However, the publication shared that her fitness beau took to his Instagram Stories after to defend his wife, writing: "Don’t believe what you read online people."

Those of you who happen to follow pop megastar Britney Spears will know that she's no stranger to posting topless pictures and videos of herself.
In fact, last Thursday, the 40-year-old 'Toxic' hitmaker sparked backlash among some of her fans when she uploaded 10 topless posts - nine pictures and one video - all within the span of an hour.
While in a London hotel room, she stripped down to nothing but a pair of black and blue leopard print underwear and staged her very own private photo shoot. Taking to Instagram, she then posted nine photos and a video of her lying in bed topless.
Some of Spears' followers felt her incessant skin-baring posts were distasteful and decided to call her out for it.
One fan took to Twitter to write: "I can't believe I am saying this but @britneyspears STOP being Naked on Instagram, please. #BritneySpears."
Another added: "Sadly had to unfollow britney spears on insta cause i would open the app in public and her naked pics would just pop up."
A third penned: "I’m going to say this, I really really really love that Britney Spears is able to express herself now that she has this freedom that she has but I am so tired of seeing her naked on my Instagram timeline…#NoShade."
Spears' penchant for provocative snaps may be turning some of her fans off, but it turns out that she has a good reason for posting photos of that nature to her Instagram platform.
Last year, the Crossroads star took to the photo-sharing app and told her followers in a since-deleted post that she wants to be able to express herself on her own terms after years of feeling "too self conscious about my body."
Britney stated: "I’ve had a billion shows where I’ve done that and to my horror uhhh well … sometimes I didn’t look so great … TOO MANY TIMES and it’s embarrassing as f*** but in my imagination it felt great!!!!
"I mean I don’t want anybody to see the big dimple on my a** but I feel like performing made me too self-conscious about my body and that’s not attractive. [sic]"
She continued: "I was born into this world naked and I honestly feel like the weight of the would has been on my shoulders and it’s made me view myself that way !!!! I wanted to see myself in a lighter way … naked.
"I am a woman …. a beautiful … sensitive woman who needs to look at myself in my purest form !!! No … I’m not going to do topless pics for the rest of my life cause that would get boring but it sure as hell helps when you need to be enlightened. [sic]"

Britney Spears is back on Instagram just days after she deleted her account following a police wellness check that was prompted by fans.
The 41-year-old was forced to speak out after her supporters called the Ventura Co. Sheriff's Office to ask cops to be sent to Spears' Thousand Oaks, California home to check on her before a spokesperson concluded that the 'Baby One More Time' singer was not in any form of danger.
"I can confirm that we did get calls into our dispatch, and essentially, I can confirm that we don’t believe that Britney Spears is in any kind of harm or any kind of danger," the police spokesperson said.
They also added that due to a "public trust issue," they could not disclose any further information.
In the wake of the incident, Spears has now re-activated her Instagram account but disabled the comments.
She also took to Twitter to address the topic in a lengthy statement.
"Yep that's me... I'm alive and well," she started, before explaining her reasons for getting rid of Instagram
"I shut down my Instagram because there were too many people saying I looked like an idiot dancing and that I looked crazy. Honestly I was doing my best but it disturbed me to see people freely talk about it on TV... yep it hurt my feelings."
She continued: "I'm sensitive and honestly I would rather take a break and do my ice cream diet anyway... I know I thought it was a joke too... but it's not... it works... surprisingly enough!!!
"I mean DAMN come on... three girls at a restaurant came up to me yesterday so drunk and loud and sat right beside me with that gross smell of alcohol and got right in my face... reminded me of my wedding... I was traumatized..."
The star then went on to say that she told them to "get away" from her and that she "woke up and spoke up for myself... can you believe it??? Honestly I couldn't either... so with that said, please again know I'm doing the best I can... l'm alive, fine, healthy, and ready to start a new day - a new morning anew !!!
"To my real fans, God bless you!!!" the 41-year-old concluded.
Spears has previously addressed similar rumors in the past.
As per TMZ, she emphasized that she felt her privacy was invaded by fans calling the police.
She said the incident made her feel "gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media."
Spears has been vocal on her social media accounts since her 13-year conservatorship was lifted in November 2021, allowing her renewed control over her personal and financial decisions.
However, fans have been scrutinizing all of the singer's posts, and her absence from the platform led to their recent actions of calling for a wellness check on the star.
