Sorry Bridgerton fans – Regé-Jean Page is in a relationship.
According to The Daily Mail, the 31-year-old actor, who portrays the character of Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings, is dating part-time footballer and writer Emily Brown.
The star was spotted and pictured hugging his girlfriend outside his home in North London this weekend.
Wrapped up for the British winter, Page was spotted embracing Brown, South-West London’s FBB Warriors, just before catching a flight from England.
The news will undoubtedly come as a surprise to fans, who had become convinced he had developed an off-screen romance with Bridgerton co-star Phoebe Dynevor.
Page recently spoke out to deny rumours that he is dating his Bridgerton co-star Dynevor.
Per Page Six, when asked about their alleged off-screen romance in a virtual interview with Access Hollywood, Page stated:
"I think everything you need to know is on camera. That’s why we presented it so beautifully for you.
"All the sparks that flew off of the beautiful scripts that we were handed, and so I think that the sparky scripted material are more than enough."
Per The Daily Star, 25-year-old Dynevor has revealed how she felt about the prospect of watching her own sex scenes with Page while viewing the show with her family.
She laughed: "I had to sit there and fast forward on high alert with the remote control. We managed it, just about."
Despite some of the racier scenes, the Daphne actor stated that her mom, Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor, was "very proud and excited" to see the Netflix series.
She added: "I watched the show with the whole family, even the grandparents managed to watch it."
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Collider, the show's creator, Chris Van Dusen, seemed to suggest that the series could run for another seven seasons, stating: "This being a family of eight children and there being eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings.
"For each character, for sure. I would love that."
Netflix is expected to confirm a second series of Bridgerton later this year.
