Britney Spears has shown off her recent weight loss in a pair of hot pants and a bra top after implementing a "portion control" diet.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (February 23), the singer, 39, decided to explain to her followers why her body was noticeably slimmer than in her last dancing video.

"The last video that I posted of me dancing was from months ago ... hence why my body looks a little different in this new video !!!!" she said.

The singer then opened up about the changes that she implemented to achieve her new slimmer frame, joking that she "didn’t follow through with the ice cream diet."

"I chose portion control which is very hard when it comes to Doritos !!!!! On a positive note … my body does feel way better now," she wrote.

In the video, the 'Toxic' hitmaker freestyles her moves to Otis Redding's (Sittin' On) the Dock of the Bay in her living room.

She can be seen wearing a white ruffled crop bra top and a pair of pink pajama shorts that she had rolled up ever so slightly.

Her caption continued: "If you're wondering why I have socks at the tip of my toes ... well I'm waiting for real lyrical shoes !!!!"

However, she admitted that the marble flooring in her home has "done a number on [her] feet with blisters so white tape covered with a black sock will have to do for now."

She concluded: "My lyrical shoes come tomorrow and I haven’t worn a pair since I was 9 so I’m sure they’re even better these days !!! God bless and sending love to all of you."

However, despite the upbeat nature of the video, per the Daily Mail, fans were still searching its content for signs that the signer is may not be okay.

This comes after the release of the new documentary, Framing Britney Spears, which details the singer's rise to fame and 2007 meltdown.

The documentary sheds particular light on Britney's treatment by the media as well as her relationships with people like her father Jamie Spears and ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
