Jennifer Aniston delights fans with 'Friends' reunion during Emmys
It's fair to say that the 2020 Emmys were unique. As a result of social distancing measures, the glittering television awards show was mostly virtual this year, with comedian Jimmy Kimmel acting more like the admin of a Zoom chat than a host.
However, there was one aspect of the 2020 Emmys that made it very special for some viewers. Yes, former 'Friends' actress Jennifer Aniston delighted fans of the classic sitcom, with an emotional cast reunion.
Take a look at the impromptu 'Friends' reunion in the video below:

At one point during the awards show, Kimmel elected to check up on Aniston back at her home, where she'd changed from an elegant black gown into a silk robe.
But as you can see in the webcam footage above, Jen wasn't alone. She was promptly joined by Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox, and the three joked that they had secretly been roommates since 1994. Later on, actor Jason Bateman also surprised audiences by making an appearance too.
On social media, a number of viewers have since shared their delight and surprise over the stunt:
Of course, 'Friends' fans have been left waiting for a much longer reunion special, which was due to premiere on HBO Max. Sadly, filming was postponed multiple times due to the global pandemic. But in a recent interview, Aniston assured her fans it would be worth the wait.
Speaking to Deadline, Jen stated:
"It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed.
"Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends. Sorry. You’re stuck with us for life guys.”
Aniston had been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, thanks to her work on The Morning Show, but lost out to Zendaya, who won instead for her role in the drama Euphoria.
