Megan Fox opens up about how her sex symbol status impacted her movies in revealing interview
You know, it's not easy being beautiful. Okay, so I'm not speaking from personal experience or anything, but seriously: it's true! I mean, think about some of the most gorgeous and glamorous actresses in Hollywood.
Not only do they have to work insanely hard to keep their figures trim and faces glowing all the time, but sometimes their hard work and stunning good looks can actually backfire, and lead to them being typecast.
If you want an example of how these kinds of double standards can actually have a negative impact on one's career, then look no further than Megan Fox.
Back in the 2000s, she was regarded by many as the sexiest woman on the planet. But now the Transformers actress has opened up about how her sex symbol status actually affected her portfolio.
Per The List, in a candid interview about her cult horror/high school comedy movie Jennifer's Body, Fox stated:
"I was being vilified a little bit when the movie was getting ready for its release, it was that interesting juxtaposition to shooting up to extreme heights of fame right before the movie was released and then... the tearing me down was starting to happen."
Transformers director Michael Bay recently came under fire for making Megan dance in a bikini at the age of 15:

Fox went on to say that her well-documented feud with director Michael Bay also had an impact on her career, stating:
"I had this immediate fallout with someone I worked in the industry. That happened right when I was on the press tour for 'Jennifer's Body'. I think it all sort of exploded at once."
She added:
"I think people definitely viewed me as negative or having bad intentions or just being really shallow and selfish, if it could be reduced and simplified even to that."

So there you have it. It might seem all too easy to envy the uber-attractive, but sometimes their lot isn't much better than anyone else's.
