Former nightclub manager speaks out on night Ruby Rose alleges Katy Perry sexually assaulted her
The ex-manager of the nightclub where Ruby Rose alleged she was sexually assaulted by Katy Perry has shared his own version of events.
Rose took to social media on Sunday (April 12), claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Perry in a number of posts.
The latter would unequivocally deny these claims in a statement, describing the allegations as "dangerous reckless lies".
And today, Rose, 40, would provide fans with an update on the claims she made against Perry, while also moving to delete her original posts as she had "finalized all of my reports."
The Australian actress, best known for roles in Orange Is The New Black and Batwoman, claimed that the incident took place in an Australian nightclub nearly 20 years ago.
Ruby Rose's sexual assault allegations against Katy Perry
The model and actress replied to an article about Perry, 41, at Coachella, saying: “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s*** what she thinks.”
Explaining that she was in her early 20s, Rose said that "it has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly."
Opening up about the incident, she went on: “She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face till my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.
“After it I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it. Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by.. everyone."
Former nightclub manager's version of events
The ex-manager of nightclub Spice Market, which has since closed, revealed what he saw when the stars turned up together back in August 2010.
Speaking to the Herald Sun, he revealed that it was a "security nightmare" due to the popular celebrities visiting the venue, as hundreds were trying to get in.
"They came in together, they were also with Katy’s hair and make-up girl and another guy who was friends with Ruby," he told the publication.
The former manager went on: "It was a security nightmare because there were 600 people there and Katy kept coming out and dancing with everybody and going right in the middle of the mosh pit."
The manager claimed he "wasn’t aware of any alleged assault"
Apparently, the stars spent most of their night in a VIP area which was separate to the area with other clubgoers, which was known as the Genie Bottle.
He remembered seeing Perry and Rose having "drinks and stuff," recalling that they were in the VIP area "doing their own thing."
But the former nightclub boss admitted: "I wasn’t aware of any alleged assault, or someone vomiting,
"They were drunk, they weren’t paralytic or anything and just like any other person drinking at a nightclub."
He did admit though, that they probably had "too much to drink," recalling: "To avoid people taking photos of them in a state, we organised a car and driver to be waiting outside the Collins St entrance of the hotel.
"We escorted them out the back and up the fire exit and put them in the car together. I think from there they went on to The Peel Hotel."
Katy Perry's denial of Ruby Rose's allegations
A representative for Perry has since addressed Rose's claims, denying everything alleged.
The statement read: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.
"Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Ruby Rose deletes old posts
While the actress claimed that she was "not interested in filing a report," a new update to fans suggests otherwise, as she provided her "last update" on the situation.
Rose had claimed she would be "walking into a police station" with her allegations, writing on Threads: "Hi! Last update on this:
"As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.
"It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people’s experiences, but I’m not.
"This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief.
"I can start the healing process now. And temporary move forward. (sic)
"I love you all so much," she concluded.
