Nikki Glaser has opened up about why she’s comfortable letting her boyfriend sleep with other women while admitting she can’t do the same herself.
The 41-year-old comedian raised eyebrows last month after sharing on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast that she has no issue with her boyfriend being intimate with other women.
"In a relationship, I don't really care if my boyfriend were to hook up [with others]," she said.
However, Glaser revealed that the arrangement is completely one-sided: "That is not a two-way street," she said.
"I'm not someone who likes to hook up when I'm in a relationship. I don't really care about that. But I don't care if someone else were to. In fact, I kind of like it," she added.
Glaser has been dating TV producer Chris Convy on and off since 2013 after the pair met while working on her MTV series Nikki & Sara.
During the interview, she explained that she actually encourages him to seek attention from other women because she wants "a guy who other girls want".
She confirmed her boyfriend has "done some stuff" with other women, adding: "He probably wouldn't appreciate me elaborating on that, but there's been interesting things that have been really fun for me to hear about and experience… Sometimes I'm too busy to be really sexy, so I'm like, 'Go out and get some attention.'"
The stand-up comic also got candid about how she views long-term relationships, confessing: "Innately, it is settling...You do not know that the person you are with is the best person for you.
"There's too many people on this planet, you haven't met any of them. You never will. So you have to settle."
Glaser even questioned the idea of soulmates, saying: "The odds of someone meeting the person 'best for you' are kind of low…
"I don't believe in soulmates, and I do believe you have to go like, you know what, 'This is the best I can do right now, and I'm gonna just cash in my chips because I probably could do better, but who knows?'" she added.
A resurfaced clip from Gwyneth Paltrow's March 2025 episode of the Goop podcast gave more insight into why Glaser is okay with Convy exploring connections with other women while she doesn’t do the same herself.
"If I’m in a monogamous relationship, I might have that flutter with someone and like indulge in it, but it can’t go beyond that," she explained.
When the Iron Man actress asked why it couldn’t go further for her, the comedian answered: "He’s not into that, and like would be a breach for him, so it’s not like a two-way street, which I think is fair because… he doesn’t even want this, like my weird fetish."
She added: "The strange thing is he’s like 'I don’t need anyone else or crave anyone else, I’ll do it if it turns you on.'"
The former FBoy Island host also revealed that the fantasy has long been part of her relationships.
"For every person I’ve ever been with, it has always been like a part of foreplay for me to hear about other women, like almost the courtship process, I like the 'will they, won’t they,' like how did you know, like I’m really horny for that," she said.
"That’s a part that I struggle with of being in a relationship with someone forever that I’m never going to have that again," she confessed.
While Glaser was initially open about the subject, she later admitted she regretted how widely the comments spread online.
"It was just really embarrassing because I was like that was just one little thing I talked about, like, 'Oh, I’m kind of turned on by this idea of it,'" she said on the On with Kara Swisher podcast.
"Everyone I knew had seen that day I went in to do some voice-over work, and people on the Zoom in the voice-over were like, 'Wow, a lot of headlines about you today,'" she continued. "I’m like, that is so humiliating that they know this."
"I just have to pay more attention now to the stuff I say," she added.
